15 Night Hawaii (San Francisco Roundtrip)
Sail Date: November 24, 2014
Ship: Star Princess
Cabin Type: Suite
Cabin Number: D121
Traveled As: Couple
Reviewed: 2 years ago

This was a long time at sea, essentially 9 days to see four ports, plus 4 hours in Ensenada, Mexico. It would have been better to have an extra day in Hawaii, and bypass Ensenada, which is not particularly scenic (tongue in cheek), but apparently the ship needs to stop in a foreign port for either registry or tax purposes.  The food on the Star Princess was OK, but not up to the standards of other cruise lines we have used.  The ship, itself, was nice, but confusing floor plan.  Be aware that balcony room and mini-suites on lower decks are not covered.

The staff on the Star Princess was outstanding.  They were the most welcoming and cheerful staff we have yet experienced.

Needs some refurbishing. In port for 10 days after this cruise.

furnishings were getting a little tired. Though billed as a mini-suite, it is similar to a veranda room on other ships. OK but not as roomy as expected.

Ship Tip

This is a large, long ship with a confusing floor plan. Pay attention to which elevator banks go where. Stay with the center elevators for most purposes.

Honolulu is like any other big US city, but get away from the city, and the island is beautiful

Scuzzy place, like Tijuana without excitement.
