We ordered popcorn every night from room service while we watched a dvd. They say it will take up to 30 minutes, it was always under 10 and always still warm.

This size of vessel can get into some harbors where larger ships can’t. The marina deck on 3 can be open when the ship is not docked but moored off the coast, so you can swim and use equipment (kayaks, paddleboard, etc) by diving right off the deck. I think this would be a great advantage on some routes (polynesia).

I would research the shore excursions a little more in retrospect. Since this was a new itinerary for the Star Legend - I believe there is opportunity to improve the descriptions of the excursions to be more reflective of what to expect.

If you like the romance of Windstar sailing ships...avoid Star fleet. Many passengers thought Star cabins better since they had recently been refurbished. Like the Windstar Surf best.

Don't expect modern WIFI. They operate with very old and expensive communications technology.

They told us not to bother buying Wifi because it was so bad. Don't order room service - they won't get it right. Be careful using the water sports deck because they don't have proper safety procedures in place.

If you drink, the alcohol package is well worth getting. Was surprised they included premium vodkas such as belvedere and grey goose as part of it. Wine selection by the glass was not bad either so we didn't have to purchase additional bottles at dinner. Also really liked the laundry package.

This is a small yacht experience for the traveler who prefers individual service, smaller ports of call and doesn’t need to be entertained to have an amazing time. Only about 200 guests makes this very special.

The Star Legend is a beautiful ship. This itinerary is a must for everyone to consider. The excursions and the guides were smart and interesting and made the experience that much more perfect.

The excursions are expensive. Those with more experience on the ship generally booked private excursions with local companies instead of booking through Windstar and saved a lot of money.

Two tips: 1. Get a room on port side so always facing land, lots of landscapes to observe. 2. Do a pre or post tour of Golden Circle and other highlights reachable from Reykjavick.
