Cruise itinerary in general was nice and why we picked this cruise. We were very disappointed in quality and service in restaurants. This being our 3rd Oceania cruise, we had higher expectations.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
Took a little time to get through customs before boarding ship. I felt sorry for older people had trouble standing in line while dealing with their carry on luggage. Staff was courteous
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
Quality and preparation of food was very inconsistent and not what I expected from Oceania, in all restaurants. Service (refills, taking orders, etc) was not up to Oceania standards. Felt like ship was understaffed. Couldn’t find clean tables in Terraces in the mornings on port days. Room service breakfast was helpful. Overall very disappointing.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Trivia, O points activities were ok
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Shows were hit or miss. Ships production company was ok. Singer Chris Bannister was very good, especially his 2nd show, magician not very good. First strings quartet not very good but 2nd one was much better, enjoyed their music before dinner
Children's Programs
No children
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Service was hit or miss. Several restaurant staff (Barnard, Yoshbi) were very good, but seemed understaffed. Cruise director just ok. Destination desk not very helpful and didn’t get back to me the whole cruise when they said they would. Room steward was good and friendly.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
The staff kept the ship clean especially after some on ship got sick. The ship’s layout is good, easy to get around
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Stateroom size was ok and had enough storage to unpack and store suitcases under bed. Could have used some more hooks. Bathroom, especially shower, was very small.
Visited on a Sunday- excursion included visit to Lillesand along with boat ride. Boat ride was ok but there was nothing open in Lillesand, kind of a waste of time
Excursions-Good photo stop near Trollstigen and waterfall. Switchback road was closed. Just drove by other view points that would have been nice to stop at. Could have skipped lunch and church stop
We did our own and ship was not docked close to transportation to town. Oceania should have provided more assistance in getting us to train station instead of making us take a cab to train to get into town
