Norway is amazingly beautiful. The cruise was good but not excellent.

Review summary

The ship was nice and the room was quite good. The staff was exceptionally well trained and pleasant in every encounter. My biggest criticism was my perception that the cruise line skimped on the quality of food in the dining rooms. The descriptions of the dishes were elaborate and colorful but that couldn't hide the fact that cheep sea food and meats were offered. The La Terraza restaurant had about nine pasta dishes that were all meatless except one that had pork cheeks. Additionally they had separate vegetarian selections.

The food was very disappointing. The menu was loaded with meatless pasta dishes and except for the hot rock experience the steaks were tough and of poor quality. The fish offerings were also of poor quality frozen fish. How could a trip to Norway not have fresh salmon on the menu? The lunch buffet was only average again offering poor quality protein choices.

The fitness center was terrible. It was small and not well equipped. It was almost impossible to use the free weights if another person was working out in the small room.

Entertainment

The singers were excellent but the ship almost always used prerecorded music. This is simply another example of the cruise line "cheeping out" on things that they hoped no one would notice.
