Overall the cruise was really good.  The food in the main dining room had something to be desired.  I know this is subjective but I think they are trying to get too fancy.  My wife said that the chicken cordon bleu was like something you get frozen from Walmart.  We went to Geovanni's for dinner and the service was bad.  We had to wait for a long time for the food to come out.  We had to wait a really long time for the knockie.  Our server said it was being cooked but when we got it was cold.  He also had a large table next to us.  He would put the food on all of their plates but just put ours on the table.  I also had to ask many times to get my water refilled.   We also had problems at Rita's Cantina.  My appetizer came out but my wife's did not.  We asked the waiter.   We told him to not worry about it if he forgot because we filled up on chips and salsa. He said he did not forget.  He said it was cooking  that the calamari takes longer to cook then the poppers.  I found that hard to believe because I'm sure the poppers were frozen.  Anyway, I just thought the apps should have come out at the same time.  The calamari finally came out and so did our dimmer 1 minute later.  There were also no food options after midnight other then room service.  Casino host was not existent.  We always qualify for free cruises or discounted cruises.  Usually the first night the host will introduce their selves to us and check in with us through out the cruise.  On the fifth day we finally found him and he did not seem to have a care in the world.  At the end of the cruise we got a credit for our play to the sea pass account.  It never did show up. 

The good---  First time in a suite.  Loved it.  Mario the concierge was fantastic.  We also did some different activities and loved them.  The ship overall was great. Service in some areas were lacking.

Dining.....we had and excellent waiter Vladimir and his assistant David.......they made the dinners every night enjoyable.    The service and timeliness were

outstanding with excellent recommendations for every meal.

My husband and I  really enjoy our time aboard the Serenade of the Seas....the ship has so much character.  We had one of the best placed cabins on the ship, close to everything....

The only complaint is the coffee....worse tasting stuff....it seem to be always the bitter taste of the bottom of the pot...so bad that I switched to hot tea for the remainder of the cruise...

I can not say it was the Best Cruise I have been on but the workers on board were FANTASTIC. They help make up the short falls. The food was good but we have had better quality on other lines. But don't misunderstand, the food was good. 

The only bad part of this cruise was that they switched water tanks twice and the water came out VERY Yellow. But they failed to announce it and advise people that it would clear up after the fresh water flowed thru the system. So twice we found ourselves with yellow water and no warning. 

The Evening Entertainments were my favorite.  Somewhat disappointed that one evening, there was a movie instead of usual entertainment.  The Comedians and Musicians not part of the crew were all outstanding.  Among the crew, the male singers were OK, while the female singers were screeching too much, especially the taller woman.

ship has very little to do on board, so if your not looking to do a lot of excrusions this is not the cruise to take. ship also needs to be upgraded or dry docked for reapairs and upkeep. Dining room food is less than average quality.

will not book anogther cruise through .  Once they have your booking they forrget who you are.

We recommend this cruise to everyone who love to be serve as royalty persons like we where served. The ship have lot off space for sun batting. The food is excellent, and the service professionaly made.

I have explained about the good and the bad in my comments below.  It was great to be gone for 10 days rather than the usual 7. The price was definitely right but as I said below we did feel like we were on a training ship.  Everyone was new at the job or was being trained to take on a job. Despite all this, we would do it again. 

The island selection for this cruise was probably our favorite part along with the excursions. River tubing in Dominica was awesome! Also liked the rum tasting tour. The balcony on the ship was not worth the money, since they didn't enforce the no smoking rule, we had a constant breeze of cigarette smoke and couldn't use the deck. The shows were decent but not spectacular. All around it was fun, but lacked the "wow" they are trying to project. 

We had a very enjoyable time on our recent cruise.  The experience of dealing with was the beginning of our positive time of this. The bartenders julio and ryan in the crown and castle served us very well

We are Diamond and a "Loyal To Royal" but don't mind being critical when criticism is deserved.  The Serenade is not an old ship (it first sailed in 2003,)  in the grand scheme of ships.  It is a beautiful design but, it is tired and in need of the refurb now.  The refurb is scheduled for fall of 2017.

The staff on board are friendly, courteous and attentive.

Royal has recently redesigned the menus throughout the fleet.  We noticed some cost-savings in the new menus; no longer do you get prime rib, you get sirloin; no more turkey, you get roast chicken; shrimp cocktails are not available every night; rack of lamb is gone, lamb shanks are in.  These are just some of the changes.  The food was good, but the offerings have slipped.

We would be happy to sail on the Serenade again and recommend it to those reading this review, but we would advise that you book after the refurb.

The cruise was almost everything we have come to love with RCI. The ports of call all seemed the same. Would not have spent the money for the over priced side trips. We did see some overall cutbacks. This may be because of the new big ships coming out and the small ships are taking the hits.

All in all we still love RCI and will continue to enjoy the comps being a diamond member.

I am not sure if I will book threw you again.  For on my  invoice it said I get a 75.00  on board  credit  in which I did not receive.  I love Royal Caribbean cruise line.

Excellent ports of call! Enjoyed all of them and will go back for extended stays. Food was very good as usual, cabin was great/quiet, well cleaned without any problems/interruptions.

The past 12 night cruise was fabulous! The overall service was exceptional. From the dining, to the stateroom to the off shore excursions, everything was done professionaly. Anytime my wife or I had a question or concern it was dealt with quickly and with a caring manner. The few issues we had were resolved and with a follow up to make sure we were satisfied. The dining room staff always went that little bit extra to accommodate our dinner seating and that our dining experience was enjoyable. The room attendant always made sure the room was clean and a timely manner. The excursion desk was patient and offered suggestions when issues arose with a cancelation. Overall we had a wonderful time and look forward to cruising again with Royal Caribbean.

entertainment was good--dinner in main cdining room was confusing as far as seating goes--trying to sit with 2 other couples was a disaster the first couple of nights--appetizer choices were very good and plentiful--entrees too limited--if I never see another piece of broccoli (and I love broccoli) or carrots it will be too soon.

The ship is very pretty, even though it is not a newer ship.  The food was very, very good and our cabin steward was wonderful. I appreciate the hand sanitizer stations all over the ship, especially in the dining areas.  Although, I did see some people walk by without taking advantage of this great provision.  It would be nice if it could be enforced.

We had a fantastic vacation in a lovely room with a great balcony. Food variety was great and all services were pleasing. We enjoyed the gym and the places we visited as well.

Yes I would recommend this cruise to my friends. Would like to improve the entertainment and on board activities Port at St. Thomas was .unacceptable.
