Review summary

Very nice active cruise. Plenty of time available for shore activities. Good on board activities. Great Scenery. Make sure you bring rain gear.

Embarkation

Slow- Boarding a ship going to Alaska in Vancouver is a multi step process because in addition to checking in for the cruise you also have to go through US customs because you will be entering US on your cruise stops. The lines were quite long because they were 3 ships in port embarking the same day.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food was mostly as expected. Service was very good. The one short coming was the Chop House restaurant food was not really any better than main dining room.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Enjoyed everything we did. Since it was cool and windy, the pool and rock climbing wall were not open. Have enjoyed them very much on previous cruises. The fitness center was large not crowded and well run. We did trivia and other games on board which were enjoyable.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The shows were just okay. The quality seems to have slipped a bit since 2019 when we last cruised on this ship. It seems that they had smaller budgets this time since the re-used some of the singers in both the variety shows and as headliners. Also the Cruise Director performed as main singer in one show.

Service and Staff

Everyone went out there way to make sure we had a great cruise

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Like the ship design and everything was very clean all the the time

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin was good, we had plenty of space and the views were great from the Balcony when cruising the inside passage. Cabin steward did a great job cleaning our room and restocking us with ice with out ever needing to provide service while we were in the room.

Ship tip

Relax and Enjoy the activities on ship as well as a the shore excursions.

Outstanding scenery. Would have liked to be able to get closer to Sawyer Glacier.

Even though 4 ships were in port it did not feel overcrowded. The Whale Watching excursion was fabulous. Best place in inside passage to view whales and wildlife. $5 round trip shuttle service. Easy 1 mile walk if you don’t take shuttle.

Haines, Alaska

We did not take an excursion and there is little to do in town. I don’t think this is typical cruise stop. Free shuttle.

Sitka, Alaska

Nice little port. People were friendly. Had great lunch at bayview pub. Free shuttle to from town from ship.

Disembarkation

We self embarked - was quick and easy. Short lines for Canadian Customs and easy access to public transportation to airport.
