Review summary

The cruise was all we expected from the ship. We had sailed on this ship ten years ago and had a magnificent time. The fact that RCCL is cutting corners and costs it has changed the experience. We are seriously considering other cruise lines.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was very smooth even though RCCL is pushing the new cell phone app that doesn't work. We were through the embarkation lounge in an hour. On board and looking to do nothing but relax.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The main dining room is all you really need. The service was prompt, courteous and very personal. The buffet was more than adequate for breakfast and lunch. You have more food then you should consume but some people are glutens and wasteful. The ship used to have colector glasses that you could keep after ordering a drink in them, but for some reason, this is not available anymore. Also at dinner, we used to have the bar service come around with shots of the day in shot glasses that you could keep if you wanted to. If you wanted bar service at dinner they were there for you to order a glass of wine. This has been totally removed which adds to the work that the servers have to perform.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The pool is fine for small groups in it at one time. The hot tubs are not enough for everyone on sea days. The ship is small and this is the problem on those days at sea, everyone wants to be in the sun the number or chairs are not adequate. There is no saving but it is hard to enforce so they don't and people take advantage of this and go off to lunch or something else but they leave stuff on the chair. Ice carving has been cut out as well as the pool deck bbq.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The shows in the theater we fine. The musical was fun. The centrum had a few not so hot musicals but what do you want?

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our cabin steward was very friendly and attentive. All the staff that we ran in to on that floor were very polite and always smiled. Officers were not visible throughout the day as they are on other ships and other cruise lines. Pool staff has been reduced to the point that you might not as well count on them. We cruised on this ship ten years ago and the difference between then and now was very noticeable and disappointing.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The layout is easy to maneuver and very clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
There were three of us in the cabin, so the pullout couch was not comfortable at all. The closet was not large enough for all of the clothing so we had to get very inventive.

We signed up for a snorkeling excursion on another visit and it sucked. As certified scuba divers, snorkeling would be a snap but the experience was such that we would not recommend it. This time we took a bus tour and since I'm 6'2" I had a hard time with the tight seating. My knees were jammed into the back of the seat in front. This is one island we can do without.

Stay away from the Jolly Harbour Resort as a day excursion. The money spent there would have been better spent at a number of shops in port. I would not use this as an all-inclusive either.

Disembarkation

We were off real fast but customs was slow.
