Southern Caribbean was our favourite cruise of all Caribbean cruises. Ports of call were excellent and all RC excursions were good. Favourite ports were St.Kitts and Bonaire. Must do in Bonaire port is enjoying a cocktail on the pier next to ship under the grass hut.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We were consecutive cruisers for this cruise and were taken off the ship for 15-20 minutes while ship was having clearance. Right back on though no issues.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Would have been nice to have the menus changed up a bit being a consecutive cruiser. Some dishes in main dining room had too much salt. Izumi was favourite of the 3 specialty restaurants.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Pickle ball was awesome every morning during sea days. Darts in the pub was always fun. Steam room is well worth the cost. Used it almost every day. Great way to wind down and relax. Most times we were the only ones using the room.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Excellent headliner shows especially the violinist who gave a lecture the next day on the DaVinci Code as an add-on. Ventriloquist was excellent and comedians were hilarious. Probably best selection of entertainment of the 7 cruises with RC we have done.

Ship Quality

This is our third time on Serenade. An aged ship but upkeep is still good. Jewel of the Seas is our favourite in the Rafiancr class.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
We had a small balcony cabin on first leg of our b2b on 7th deck and we loved and appreciated the junior suite for second leg. Lots of space, walk-in closet and large bathroom with normal sized tub. Down side...this room was directly below solarium and could hear chairs being moved in early morning and evenings above us which can be annoying. Check what’s above when booking this level.
Ship tip
Take advantage of the steam room in spa for entire cruise. Very relaxing and well worth the price. Great for sea days or relaxing in mornings when no activities planned.
No excursion but after disembarking we took a cab from hotel to water taxi on the inter coastal waterways of Fort Lauderdale. One day ticket was $56 pp and you can hop on and off all day long. Amazing yachts, mansions and restaurants. Visit Hollywood Beach and rent a covered bike for two for an hour to ride the boardwalk.
Spanish Galleon excursion was so much fun! Mud baths part of tour could have been longer. Pitons are amazing to see and best part, the ship stopped in a bay to let us swim in the Caribbean. Rum punches were excellent!
