Woman that handled the tour talks was rude on a one to one basis. One of the waiters was rude. Cabin steward was so so.

The cities visited were great and the area guides were excellent.

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sapphire Princess / Destination: Mexico

It was farely good. I wanted travel to relaxing at the ship. But unfortunately many little kids on board. and swimming pool was very noisy and crowded most the time. It was my first time with Princess Cruise. passinger service was little different then other's. I was little confused that made me busy back and force to the desk. I saw many people was standing on  line at the desk till midnight maybe they are as confuse as I was. The  ship was little smaller then I was expacted.

other then that the food was good. and room service was good. if you want to relax at the cruise. make sure check the school break time.

Thank You.

A great "Late Winter" cruise by Redheadnanax4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sapphire Princess / Destination: Mexico

My husband and I truly enjoyed every aspect of this cruise.  Everything about a Princess cruise is top notch.  The wonderful service from everyone on board.  The crew are truly amazing.  The food was superb, whether it was in one of the beautiful dining rooms, the buffet, or out by the pool.  The five ports were all very interesting and I feel had something for everyone.  San Diego has so much to see, the zoo, Sea World, Lego Land, Old Town, the harbor area with some great WWII memorabilia and statues.  Cabo San Lucas, very busy, a beautiful coastline, great fish tacos and great water activities.  La Paz, very rustic, beautiful cathedral and the most beautiful ocean.  Loreto was our favorite (plan to go back).  Once again, a beautiful cathedral, very clean, no big box stores, beautiful beach and ocean.  The people were very warm and friendly.  Puerta Vallarta has a gorgeous boardwalk with shops and small restaurants with great food.  The beaches were fantastic.  The only thing we didn't care for was to see a Sams Club and a Walmart off the balcony of our ship.  The days at sea, you could relax and enjoy with a book, or go to different lecture series.  My husband enjoyed the Photography group.  The nightime entertainment was as good as Las Vegas, if not better.  Great singing and dancing groups; comediens were hilarious.  We really enjoyed this trip.

A Family Reunion Like No Other! by DMEvarts

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Sapphire Princess / Destination: Mexico

My wife and I live in Colorado, my sister and her husband live in Tennesse and my brother and his wife live in California. My elderly mother wanted to get all her kids together in one place at one time for a family reunion. It was suggested that we could all go on a cruise. At first I had a number of concerns, but once we all boarded the ship and were settled in, it didn't take long for me to realize what a great experience this would be for the entire family. We spent more quality time together eating, visiting, and going on excursions together in one week than we had done since we were kids, and we didn't have to cook, clean, or do any driving! We now have current professionally photographed family pictures and memories that will last our lifetimes. Our cabin steward, named "Wilson" and our dinner waiter "Marc Mora" made our cruise absolutely wonderful with their top-quality service and professionalism by taking care of our needs in every way. The ship's general staff treated us to smiles and all around exceptional service. The Sapphire Princess was literally a floating resort hotel with many enjoyable activities. We especially enjoyed participating in Chris Rickets' ukulele classes that concluded with over 30 passengers performing a fun concert in the Piazza for the entire boat - it was a smashing success! Kudos to Chris Rickets for undertaking these classes on this short Mexican cruise. We received many compliments by the passengers on how fun the ukulele concert was for them as well. Also, the best entertainment on the ship in our opinion was the mariachi band, Los Brillantes, that resulted in great dancing in the Piazza. Their standing-room-only performances were due to their classical Mexican rhythms and interaction with the crowds. The only downside to this cruise was the limited amount of time we had available at each port. Overall a very enjoyable cruise experience.

Not What Was Expected by Brett7762

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sapphire Princess / Destination: Mexico

The accomadations were great. The constant attempt at attempting to sale us something was extremely frustrating. Also the hidden charges, such as the additional daily "hotel" charge and the mandatory 15% gratuity. Coffe was ridiculous. One place it would be free and another you had to pay for it and another would be half the price, i just don't get it. And the ports were very disappointing. As soon as you got off the ship you were bombarded by local vendors that just did not understand the word no and were very rude as well. I can find better ways to spend my money.

First time cruiser was disappointed by landlover1234

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sapphire Princess / Destination: Mexico

The cruise, and cruising in general, did not meet my expectations.  Few of the on board activities were of interest to me, service on the ship was mediocre, I considered only one of the meals to be really good.  The rest were on par with eating at Denny's.

My first, and quit likely, last cruise.

Always a good time by Alwaysfun

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sapphire Princess / Destination: Mexico

The service and crew were great but every time we cruise the food gets worse. I think they are wanting you to start paying for your food at the specialty resaraunts. The lido deck was worse than cafeteria food.

Very good experience by mwood55

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sapphire Princess / Destination: Mexico

I have always been hesitant to take a cruise. Something about being out in the middle of the ocean on something as my grandaughter would say,"Is big and heavy all the more to sink" has always held me back. My daughter expressed how she felt I would enjoy a cruise because my husband and I love to travel to see different entertainment. So I gave it a try, and must say i was pleatsantly surprised, and had a super time. Princess Cruise Line is excellant in customer care and satisfaction. I can't wait to book another cruise right away.

A great intro to cruising with Princess by Chatalaine

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Sapphire Princess / Destination: Mexico

You will find the trip too be short. You won't want to say good bye to the ship and her crew. The Sapphire Princess is a grand lady! Her crew wants your vacation to be perfect and they make every effort to accommodate your ever wish.  The food is excellent in the dinning room and the buffet.  Try it! I know you will love it!

Fun Time by Lynstephlee

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sapphire Princess / Destination: Mexico

LoveIt was relaxing and yet fun! There were times we wanted to stay in the cabin and just be together and it was surpising how quiet and peaceful that could be. When we wanted to be around people, there was always something to do onboard. We went to classes and learned some new things, participated in new dances, ,met new people and tasted new foods. It was a truly an amazing experience.

I was a little disappointed we couldn't go to Puerta Vallarta. There was a very ill person onboard who needed a hospital so we turned around and went back to Cabo. I was really bummed but of course, understood. We were on our 29th anniversary and looking forward to ziplining in the jungle. Next time I guess.

We also were introduced to Acupuncture on the ship. We both went each day and fell in love with the experience. I will definately do that on land as well.

Sapphire Princess by Amethyst

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sapphire Princess / Destination: Mexico

Overall, pretty underwhelming.  Food was disappointing and the ship is looking pretty dated.  More concerning was the lack of apparent cleaning of the public spaces.  We never saw anyone wiping down the elevator buttons or handrails despite the fact that there was a virus impacting a lot of the passengers.  It was our first cruise with Princess and will unfortunately be our last.  We'll stick to Royal Caribbean or Celebrity.

My daughters and I had a great trip on the Sapphire Princes.  The staff was amazing.  Can't really say anything bad about the cruise.  Other then the beds are hard.  But who is suppose to sleep when you are on a cruise.  I would recommend this ship to anyone.

Alaska is awesome and so is Princess Cruise Line. by kmpdlp

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sapphire Princess / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

This is our second cruise with Princess Cruise Line. We will sail with them again. We have already put a deposit on another cruise for the future. I would recommend Princess Cruise Line to all my friends and family. Our land tour/cruise of Alaska was awesome. The cruise line was very organized and all itineraries went flawlessly. We were extremely well taken care of each and every day. Food was also very delicious on land and on the cruise.

First Cruise by RalphFrye

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Sapphire Princess / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

We enjoyed our first cruise. We would enjoy going again. The cruise director was very talented. He was funny to watch in one of the games. He also sang very well in one program. Our cabin guy was a hard worker. He kept our room looking great. We loved sitting on the balconey watching the dolphins and seals. We wish that we could have seen whales. The restaurants on the ship had very good food. It was nice to sit down for dinner but we also enjoyed the buffet. The food was good. We liked the new pizza restaurant.

Food and service by fredsudz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Sapphire Princess / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

We had a very bad experience the last night of the cruise in the Santa Fe dining room. We has a reservation for 14 people and we were put at 2 tables for 8 and 6, which would have been acceptable. However, the tables were nowhere near each other. We were separated by 3 tables so we were not close. When we questioned the arrangements, the head waiter told us there was nothing they could do. We should have been informed when the reservation was made that they could not seat us even close to each other. When our food arrived, it was only warm and not prepared as requested. We had wonderful service from the head waiter in the Pacific Moon dining room. HIs name is Karoly Kovacs. He was exceptionally efficient. However, the food was not hot when served there either. I was very disappointed in the food portion of the cruise. Several times we had to return the food to the kitchen to either be properly prepared or heated at both restaurants. I have cuised with Princess previously and was very pleased with the entire experience, but since you are now affiliated with Carnival Cruise Lines, everything has deteriorated. Our cabin steward is exceptional. We were in E312 and our steward was Franco. He was also very efficient, professional but friendly and did everything within his power to make our cruise enjoyable. I doubt that I will cruise with Princess again. There are many lines out there that are considerably better. You need to go back to being Princess instead of Carnival-Princess.

Service disappointing by clmincalifornia

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sapphire Princess / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

The ship itself was quite nice having been recently refurbished. Nice room and bath with a large balcony. However, we were very disappointed (as were the friends we traveled with) in the service provided, particularly in the dining rooms. The staff seemed indifferent and tired. The service was definitely not up to the standards seen on other ships. It has been some years since we cruised, and perhaps the fairly new "automatic tipping" program has something to do with it. Everyone gets tipped no matter what kind of service they give. The shows (Princess dancers and singers) were pretty boring and amateurish. They had some comedians that were pretty funny, however. We have sailed on the Sun Princess years ago to the Panama Canal and remember it to be a very good experience. Perhaps service levels have dropped on all ships, I don't know. With all the other cruise lines out there (particularly Windstar and Royal Caribbean), I don't think we will sail with Princess any time soon.
