Great cruise! Beautiful scenery, excellent food. A few things could have made it a bit better. (Like getting a room with a QUEEN bed instead of two twins - OR having our room steward tell us that it was an option). Having a backup pickleball net would have been nice since someone lost, broke or stole a bar from the brand new one the first morning of the cruise. Excursions were made through independent companies and all were AMAZING!! I learned so much about Alaska that I didn't know!!

I was looking forward to playing pickleball and meeting other people who play pickleball on this cruise. I was a little late getting there. There was a guy there struggling to get the net up. He told me that someone must have taken a bar, because the bar to hold up the net was missing. So we couldn't play. I helped the guy rig the net so that we could play half the court, which means one-on-one. So I played a game with my hubby, but then there wasn't an opportunity to meet others and play doubles because of the broken net.
I also went and did line dance instruction. We learned the dances, but we weren't given time to actually have fun doing the line dance a few times. They should have played the music 2-3 times and let us enjoy doing the line dance. So just teach 2 dances and then let us dance. Four dances were too many to learn at once.
The mile walk was a refreshing and we enjoyed that very much. We met other people who were also interested in exercising.
Entertainment

I wanted to go see the comedy guy, but there wasn't any room left. There may have been a later show, but I heard that usually the comedians are more crass in their humor for the later shows and was advised not to go.
Great musicians in the shows. The guy that did both the comedy and music was pretty good. The dance and music show was awesome!
Children's Programs
No kids with us.

They were great! I just wish Andy had told us that he could have rearranged the beds from 2 twin beds to a queen bed. Or at least have asked us. I just didn't know that it was an option.

Sometimes it was challenging to get to where we wanted to go. I wish there had been one of the printed cards of the ship's layout that we received from other cruises. The common areas were clean and well-maintained.
Cabin / Stateroom

We had requested a queen bed, NOT two twin beds. When we arrived, we were put into a cabin with two twin beds. Later (one day before the cruise was over) my brother told me that we could put the two twin beds together. We weren't sure if that was possible, but decided with one day left, why worry. The ocean view was nice, but definitely obstructed. Better than the floor down with no view outside.
Ship tip
Get outside when going to the College Fjords during dinnertime (5-7 pm) because the views are so fabulous!!
Great! Lots of available excursions! We did the seaplane with the Tagu Feast Excursion. It was incredible!! We also did a Whale Watching Excursion and that was fabulous!!
It was good, but we didn't do an excursion. More information about the train schedule would have been helpful. We went to church and then couldn't find much else to do anywhere else.
We paid to take the 7 hour tour bus! We loved the driver who was very knowledgeable about all the local information! He told some stories that ended in jokes. From then on out, I didn't know if the stories he told were going to be true or if they were just jokes. I still don't know if Buzzwinkle is a real story or something he made up.
