Review summary

Overall the ports were great. I was uncomfortable the whole trip between too much ac on the ship and the cold, wet and windy ports. I had 3 layers on and still couldn’t get warm. There needed to be different entertainment besides trivia 5-6 times a day, more than 1 comedy show and cheaper or free bingo. The views were breathtaking and the excursions were great.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Main dining tried to be too fancy and didn’t pair things together well, under seasoned food or overcooked food. The buffet was mediocre at best.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Only 1 indoor pool but kid enjoyed it

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Not enough variety in entertainment. Bingo cost an arm and a leg. The better activities ran through pick up of kids from camp so you couldn’t attend.

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
Kid enjoyed it but to many long breaks. It made it difficult to attend any activities or shows because of camp closing times throughout the day.

Service and Staff

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
3 twin beds for a married couple and a kid. We pushed the beds together for my husband and I but it might have been more comfortable sleeping on the floor. But room always clean and stocked

Ship tip

It’s cold all the time/too much ac onboard. Not enough variety in entertainment. Food mediocre

I recently did 3 princess cruises. I find them alittle boring at times. And yes it can be quite cool inside the ship. I wore long sleeves with a long cardigan over the top all the time Glad the views were good though

Appreciate your view

Sorry you were disappointed. Maybe a cruise to the Caribbean or Mexico on a ship with more activities (Carnival or MSC come to mind) would be more your style.

You booked and went on an Alaskan cruise, then complain that it was cold. Too funny! 🤣🤣

I was on Sapphire Princess a few weeks ago and had a great time. Food was amazing, so not sure what kind of food you are used to eating. Trivias are in reality 3 or 4 times with game shows in between. Comedians have two shows a day, and there are lounges all over ship for other options. Perhaps a different cruise line would be a better choice for you, since Princess didn't meet you standards.
