Review summary

Overall the cruise was very good. Cabin and steward very good. Shower tiny is only reason I didn't give higher score for cabin but new beds excellent. Lots of trivia and games every day. We had wonderful weather and seas which helped too. Shore tours well organised and the problems we saw weren't caused by Princess. I would recommend this cruise.

Embarkation

Very slow. Although we were priority so were about another 1000 passengers. Embarkation times should be allocated.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food was lovely but of course a little repetitive after 38 days. Restaurant better than the buffet.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
good selection of pools and not overcrowded. Enjoyed shuffleboard, table tennis and golf too. Played a lot of trivia!

Entertainment

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Our room steward was very polite, professional and discreet. Majority of staff very good. A couple of the cruise entertainment staff were very immature, which became irritating over time.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship design fairly standard. A little messy and confusing to get to the upper outside decks. Overall clean and maintained well.

Cabin / Stateroom

Ship tip

Midship balcony is fabulous as handy to everything.

Ports of call

Singapore

Phuket, Thailand

did the tour where you get dropped iinto town by the cruiseline and left to your own devices. Dropped to Old Phuke town. Boring place, nothing to do. Shocking.

Colombo, Sri Lanka

Not much to see. Tour was cheap, but it is hot, you get pestered by locals a lot and public toilet gross.

Cochin, India

tour was cheap. Extremely hot. Pestered by locals a lot.

Dubai, U.A.E.

4 out of 5
Very good tour. Went to top of tallest building, saw malls, beaches, town. Excellent.

Aqaba (Petra), Jordan

5 out of 5
Excellent tour. Easier to do than it is made out. You can get horse and cart in and out of the Lost city when you are there and it is cheap.

Suez Canal Transit

5 out of 5
Whilst you do not leave the ship it was very interesting to see and transit the Canal. Good commentary given by expert on the ship.

Santorini, Greece

3 out of 5
Waste of money doing the shore tour where they take you by tender to shore and then by bus to the town. You look around and come back. we could have saved a fortune and just gone on the tender ourselves and caught the gondola to the top for about 33% of the price.

Piraeus (Athens), Greece

We did the trip to Corinth Canal. Needed to do shore tour as it was about 90 minutes away. Interesting to see the canal and go up and down it (takes about 60 mins). You then visiit a coffee/souvenir shop for 45 minutes before back to the ship. Boring and not worth the money.

Valletta, Malta

2 out of 5
Malta was very interesting. Tour was affected by public holiday. They substituted visits to two sites with watching movies for 20 mins and 45 mins. I refused the second one. Ridiculous. So much to see and they do that. We rushed through the actual interesting sites.

Naples, Italy

2 out of 5
We did hop on hop off bus which was completely chaotic and unorganised. Nothing to do with Princess. Naples grotty. Should have gone on a tour out of Naples.

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

4 out of 5
Got Shore tour into Rome. Small explanations on the way and then 3 hours own time. We had been to Rome before so this suited us.
