Review summary

The service from the staff went far beyond what we expected. They were friendly and extremely helpful. We took the time to get to know a few of the employees and really enjoyed our time with them.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We definitely overate! Food was presented well and pleasing to sight and taste. There was an abundance of selections and styles. We had "anytime" dining which gave us alot of flexibility.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We could have used more entertainment and less selling

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We had absolutely NO complaints for the ship's staff. They were always smiling, approachable and helpful.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Each area was verry clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our cabin steward, Carlito, maintained our cabin. We would go to breakfast and when we came back, he had tidied our room. The chocolate left on our pillow nightly was a nice touch.

Ports of call

Juneau, Alaska

3 out of 5
Juneau was a disappointment. Of course, we didn't schedule a side excursion, other than the tram, and did not get out of the "shopping" area. It was more commercialized than expected.

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
We LOVED Skagway! It was clean, no aggressive salespeople, and our side excursion through the White Pass made this stop! This area is what we felt Alaska was about.

Ketchikan, Alaska

5 out of 5
We had a"Port and Shop" presentation on rhe ship prior to arriving in Ketchikan. We spent more time looking for the shops giving the Princess cruise people "free gifts" and then being aggressively sold by the jewelry stores. This "treasure hunt" was really a waste of time. Our canoe and jeep side excursion really made this stop.

Victoria, British Columbia

1 out of 5
All tours were closed when we docked and there wasn't much to do but wander around the shop area. It was nighttime and we had eaten on the ship before getting off. We did like the performers found on each street corner.

Pros: The service

Cons: The soft sell for
