7 Night Alaska Inside Passage (Seattle Roundtrip) Sail Date: August 21, 2011 Ship: Sapphire Princess Cabin Type: Suite Traveled As: Couple Reviewed: 6 years ago
We cruised Alaska on the Sapphire Princess and I was not impressed with the cruise at all. The ship was nice and our room was GREAT but all they wanted to do was sell you diamonds. This is not what I went to Alaska to see and do.Will not go again.
Food and Dining

Food was OK! Always cold. Ask if we could eat somewhere else besides the buffet and they said sure, for $20.00 per person. Or Yes you can get here and then get there and they would tell us NO you must come back in 3 hours to eat.

Not enough activities planned for the ship unless you like napkin folding lessons and learning how to line dance. Never just able to go dancing and have a good time. All the seminars were on buying diamonds.
Service and Staff

The staff was friendly and courteous but they did not make our beds till late afternoon and sometimes never came in at all to turn down the beds and make the fold out bed. Didn`t know how to make the wood blocks work to make the bed out.But we got it figured out. Beds were hard and the hideabed was very lumpy.

The ship size was nice and roomy. But it was hard to move around the ship because alot of the decks were blocked by different dinning areas. If you ask any crew member a question they would give you the wrong answer. It would have been better it they just tolds us they didn`t know. Very frustrating.
Cabin / Stateroom

Our room was great. Very roomy with a great jaccuzi tub and a shower. The three of us had plenty of room.
This whole town was a wasted time to us. We got there at about 7:00 pm and by the time we took the bus to town it was dark and most of the shops were closed and the bars were way to crowded to even get into to see and look around. Never found tent city here they talked about. Too dark and with 3 ships there at once it was way to busy.Had to be back on the ship by 11:30 pm
Pros: Lumber Jack Show
Cons: Nothing to do on the ship that interested us.
