Fill out/sign up for as much as you can before on boarding. Dining, preferences, excursions. Everything will be right there when you board if you do so.

Everything by the pool is crowded and wait times can be excessive. Consider going elsewhere for a quick lunch rather than waiting for food on this area.

It can be a little confusing finding the dining rooms and restaurants! Many of the on-board activities are sales pitches for the shops.

Make sure to pack bug spray if you are going to do the excursion in Costa Maya to the Chacchoben ruins. Mosquitos were everywhere.

If your looking to party and going on water slides,roller coasters etc. Then you probably want a different cruiseline. If you want to cruise to relax and have enriching experiences, then Princess would be a good choice.

Enjoy and know that there are pros and cons to every ship and cruise line. While we had some negative experiences, it is not going to keep us from cruising Princess again. We wanted a quieter more relaxed cruise and overall Ruby Princess provided it. The one major issue we did have is no one was making sure people were sanitizing their hands, especially before entering the dining areas. And hardly anyone did. They did have sanitizing stations all over though.
