Review summary

The manifest of the cruise was heavy with travelers from the Orient. The food for breakfast and lunch seemed to cater to those travelers. The food was not good. I did however, enjoy my nightly dining in the formal dining room. I signed up for anytime dining and found it very confusing as to where I could dine. Each restaurant offering anytime dining with signs pointing to the door I should enter, would always be full. I would then have to go down a level to the next restaurant to be told the dining room was full and I would need a pager for my wait. I was under the impression a table would always be open for those who chose anytime.

The cabins were very roomy and plenty of space to move around. The ship was very clean and the cabin stewards were very nice and accommodating. I liked having a naturalist on board to give bits of information about the area and the wildlife. The cruise director was hilarious and the crew working the fun events were a pleasure. The crew working in the casino were very fun. When disembarking the ship for ports, there was always a bit of confusion as to how to exit. There was poor signage and a lot of confused travelers wandering around looking for the way off the ship. I hated the constant up-sales of items on the ship. I had already paid for my vacation and did not want to spend any additional money on souvenir cups or expensive portraits. There was always a big push to buy, buy, buy. It was a turn off that the crew had to constantly up sale. I wanted to have a quiet, quaint dining experience each evening and hated the waiter pushing us to buy additional items.

Even though we had an obstructed view, our cabin was plenty big enough and had a great closet for all our hanging clothes and coats.

There was really no reason to stop at this port. We were scheduled to be there for about 4 hours. After a slight hold up with customs, our visit was down to 3 good hours. No time to see anything, any type of excursion or chance taking a ride and being late for the return.

We were asked the first day if we wanted to purchase the beverage package but you say no and move on.

Waiter trying to sell things? Never had that on a Princess cruise. Have had staff members going though the buffet trying to sell drink packages. Was it that?

We were on the Ruby last year and the service, food and entertainment was superb! Every meal meal we had in the Dining Room was outstanding with good servers. I was on the Regal in March again the best. In our book Princess Cruise Ships are the best, will cruise again on Princess!

What did the waiter want you to buy at dinner?
