Review summary
This cruise was a gift for my husband's 60th birthday "surprise". we had wanted to cruise Alaska for awhile, now. Upon embarking on the cruise we were surprised with balloons, a card, and a gift for dessert special for his birthday. The views were spectacular. The fishing in Ketchikan was so much fun. I caught a salmon. The weather was "VERY" rainy that day , but it didn't take away from our fun.We went on to Juneau and did the zip line tour with the Ruby Princess. We are both so glad we did .We learned a lot about the gold mining in Juneau and saw some spectacular scenery. I have to say the weather was refreshingly cool. Although I thought I might regret not booking a tropical vacation , I found this to be the perfect weather. The nightly dinners ( we have a 8pm dinner table) were so fun ! Arnaldo and Sasha were our table waiters . They were great! We did a little gambling , not our thing, but playing poker on the bar machine proved to be entertaining and not too hard on our budget. The trivia games were a delight. Loved those. The library was a nice retreat ,also, with Sudoku offerings every day and trivia puzzles. Laundry. on every floor. Don't remember this on other cruises but it came in handy. Shows, the piano bar, and photo displays were yet another fun plus on the trip. Bought a few things from the ships' shops, great art exhibits and auctions! And the food, every where was spectacular! Nice pools. The shows, outside in the pool area were a blast, bring warm clothes for that. Lots of different shows to please all. What can I say? HAD A WONDERFUL TIME! Thanks , Ruby Princess and staff.
