I didn't have a problem... by jmlenzo

Sail date: /
Ship: Royal Princess

I didn't have a problem with the ship or the crew. I did however run into a couple of "entitled" mean people. I was really looking forward to the trip. Expectations were too high. The excursions were 1 1/2 hr to destination 45 min to see everything the. 1 1/2 back to ship. I wanted more time to see the sites. Lots of people complained that they didn't have time to shop. I really didn't care about shipping. But that is how all the excursions that we went on were. So disappointed.

Some great ports and not so great by Fun2b

Great trip. All of the passengers were very cordial and active. The different dance floors were always full.

No smooth sailing on the Royal Princess by BethTravels

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

A very rocky start, which we had hoped would be smoothed over, but alas no one on the ship cared enough to address the issue. We sought out the assistant hotel manager who had to be lead to do anything to compensate for many errors made on behalf of her staff and Princess. We were never welcomed or made to feel at home. We preordered bathrobes, but had to ask for them on the ship. What is the point of the cruise personalizer if the items requested are not presented? I paid for an anniversary package months before boarding, but was told we did not have one. I had to show the receipt, and then they set it up for the day we disembark! If I had not asked about this we never would have received it, but were charged quick enough. We attended (paid for) a wine tasting, and my husband's seat did not receive the plate of hors' duerves. Attention to detail was lacking. After ten minutes a plate was brought, but did not have everything the other plates had. And as I previously mentioned we were given cruise cards valid for one day, which prevented us from leaving the ship without a lengthy trip to the staff desk to get new cards. I will also mention here that the letters we received were addressed to another couple and ourselves. I felt obliged to ask and make sure we were not paying taxes and tips for this phantom couple. Attention to detail. We enjoyed the ports very much, as well as the ship itself, but the staff left us feeling under appreciated and welcomed. We are hoping it is the Royal ship and staff and not across the Princess line. We sailed on the Crown Princess to Alaska three years ago and do not remember any of this type of behavior. We remember everyone knowing our name and treating us with respect and appreciation.

A Mixed Blessing by Bucky63

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Transatlantic

Great food (in the buffet); the main dining room:not so much. Wonderful entertainment, lectures, etc. Comfortable cabin albeit a bit small. especially the balcony. Biggest disappointment: not being able to dock in LaHavre due to weather so missed out on seeing the Normandy beaches. This was the focus four trip.

Returning after many years and found the whole experience excellent!, perhaps the 'Steak house' should go as the Wow factor left years ago! Proof of the pudding: booked another Princess cruise

I 'Came Back New' on the Royal Princess. A lovely ship, staff, food, entertainment. All top notch by AprilMayJune

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

St. Thomas and St. Maarten are still in need of rebuilding. Princess Cays is a lovely island with nice sand and beautiful blue clear water. We took the Castaway Girl catamaran snorkeling trip to two sites and saw turtles and a shipwreck. On St. Maarten we rented an ATV for the day and drove the entire island to Friar's Cay Beach which is public, secluded and has two restaurants then over to Maho Beach. Lots of fun. The ship is lovely and you dont have to worry about the food or water onboard. All safe and clean

Wonderful Cruise ship a little disappointing by ercox7

Great time in the sun. Loved the retreat pool on the ship and the ports of call. Found the days at sea very restful and enjoyed watching the sea go by. I was disappointed that there were no destination experts on this cruise.

Just returned from a 10... by mrspea

Sail date: /
Ship: Royal Princess

Just returned from a 10 day eastern caribbean cruise on Royal Princess. It was our 4th cruise with Princess. We had a wonderful time. Beautiful ship. Nice calm weather (except for one moderately rough day at sea) The food was good with great service from everyone. The new show The Secret Silk was amazing. Lovely islands and our excursions were very interesting with friendly guides. Many hard working people on the ship that made sure we were having a nice time. Overall one of our best trips ever.

Just off the Royal 3/30/18.... by cookok

Sail date: /
Ship: Royal Princess

Just off the Royal 3/30/18. Second cruise on the Royal. First time in a Lido deck cabin L202 and really enjoyed being on that deck, will do again. Very nice cruise with great weather. No complaints really, haven't had a truly bad one in 25 cruises. Ship is beautiful and sparkling clean imo. Rhapsody musicians were awesome as was the show The Secret Silk. Perry Grant is very entertaining and funny, got hooked on him and watched several times in Crooners and Vista. Enjoyed sitting outside aft on Promenade deck in padded lounge chairs several times for hours. Also enjoyed sitting in the Piazza listening to music and watching and having wine and such. Alfrado's was good and really enjoyed their soup before a tasty pizza. Just a lovely and relaxing and enjoyable cruise and atmosphere. Wife and I are mid 60s.

Southern Caribbean Medley- just ok by treeco

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Princess changed the itinerary a few times. We had several days of wind, rainy weather and choppy seas that prevented a stop at Princess Cays, and Dominica was replaced with Grand Turk (good) then with Martinique (bad). Martinique was scary and people were not friendly. I would not go back there. Our excursion in Grenada had a large group of blind and handicapped people that made for a frustrating day for my husband and I. The food was just ok. I'm ambivalent about this cruise for many reasons- it wasn't "fun", but it was very interesting and I did enjoy some of the ports. Our cabin was excellent, and we were on vacation, so that's a plus.

Our last Princess cruise was 5 years ago. The buffet quality definitely seemed better. And the piped in music was much improved with more Spanish and Soca.

We just got off this... by PlatinumCruise

Sail date: /
Ship: Royal Princess

We just got off this cruise and celebrated our 50th Anniversary by having the Captain renew our vows in the chapel on the 14 th deck. It was an amazing moment and a beautiful ceremony. Our children 's gift was a romantic dinner on our balcony the next night and that was another amazing moment and the best dinner we've ever had.The whole cruise was a second Honeymoon and was so wonderful to experience. We definately will do another Balcony dinner just because it was so enjoyable and our servers were top notch❤️
