Review summary

Such amazing scenery and experiences! While being confined to the ship is a bit of a bummer sometimes, the service, food, drink and views along the way make it all worth it!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation went smoothly. Easily understood and managed very well at the terminal in Vancouver.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We ate at all the dining rooms at least once, ate at the specialty steak house once, the specialty Italian once, and the buffets most days for breakfast and once for lunch. All the food was well prepared and the service was exceptional at all dining rooms and specialty restaurants. The buffet had a lot to offer any taste and I was happily surprised at getting some drink service as well in the buffet. I didn't enjoy the crowds at the buffet and it was a bit frustrating and chaotic at times. I didn't particularly enjoy the food offered at the Italian restaurant, but Italian really isn't my go to any time. I did have an amazing dessert there after my meal though, so that made up for it. I had the BEST filet mignon at the steak house specialty restaurant! So juicy and tender! We used almost all of the bars throughout the ship. Our favorite was Crooners. The bartenders were just of a different caliber and the care they took to make a great drink showed! The Baccarat martini was SO good!!

Onboard Activities

My husband participated in a bags competition between guests and officers one afternoon which he enjoyed. They had almost too many things offered! I wanted to play BINGO, but didn't realize you had to pay for a package of cards... Went to trivia a couple times. Used the Retreat adults pool area on the first and only warm day. Very nice area!

Entertainment

2 out of 5
Went to one comedy show in the evening...the comedian was TERRIBLE and people were walking out. We left early, but our friends that we were traveling with stayed for the entire show. They said the comedian ended early due to her set not going well.

Children's Programs

We did not travel with children.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Everyone that we came into contact with on the ship was outstanding from servers, bartenders, housekeeping, etc!! The exception came in at the spa...I had a massage service on one of the days, which was great; however, the staff at the desk of the spa were not friendly AT ALL! Even when you happened to walk by the spa on your way to or from the elevators, they would not smile or say hello. It was off putting since all other ship staff was the total opposite. My masseuse was great all the way through my service until I turned down buying the products she used during my massage...turned ice cold after that.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
No complaints at all! There was always someone cleaning up in the areas we were in. Fantastic!

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
It was an inside cabin, so small is what we expected, can't complain about that, we got what we paid for. The bathroom smelled musty from day one, we always kept the door wide open to air it out and that would help some. The man that did our housekeeping all week was fantastic!

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
We were a bit confused at first. We got instructions a couple nights prior to disembarkation with specific instructions related to us in particular; however, the next day got the "official" disembarkation instructions specifically for us that were different than previous instruction. A quick stop down at the Shore Excursion desk and we were headed in the right direction. It wasn't great having to put majority of your luggage out in the hallway the night before to not be seen again until the airport. Just difficult with not having some things for your morning routine that could not go in your backpack or bag you kept with you. Other than those super minor things, it really went pretty smooth.
