Review summary

The ship was very beautiful and relaxing. We had a great time on our first Alaskan sailing. We'll definitely sail with Princess again on our next Alaska sailing.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Arrived around 1100. Lines moved quickly. Waited around 20 minutes to drop off luggage and board the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The Grilled Crown was good. Main Dining was okay. Horizon Court/Bistro was below par. The food in the buffet was bland to my tastes.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Trivia was really fun. The Fitness Center needs more weight machines. Too many treadmills. The free weight area was crowded at times. Treadmills were always available.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Naathan Phan was so funny and entertaining. We really enjoyed the Alaskan information presentation with Rob Raincock. The Broadway musical productions were not that entertaining.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
My kids (13 & 15) said The Beach House was okay. They wished the kids club would have more video games.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Arnold and Well Vin from Concerto were amazing. They provide A1 service during our Main Dining. Well Vin had a different special mocktail every night for my daughter. Arnold was so friendly and great at describing the specials for the evening. Our highlights during Main Dining were Arnold and Well Vin but not the food, LoL Ana and Imade from the concierge were so friendly and helpful. Ana helped us book last minute excursions and specialty dining. Imade would always have my drinks ready for me every time he saw me. Our room stewards kept our cabin really clean and fully stocked with beverages and amenities (robes, slippers, clean towels, etc)

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Beautiful ship. I love the piazza area. Very classy looking.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Loved our cabin. We stayed in C101. Very clean and spacious for the four of us. The beds were very soft and comfortable. The bathroom was very clean and big.

Ship tip

If your Main Dining is at Concerto, ask to be seated at Arnold and Well Vin section.

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

Very organized no issues during embarkation or disparkation.

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
The port was way too crowded. Mendenhall Glacier excursion wad too short. We didn't have enough time to enjoy the glacier. By the time we walked to Nugget Falls we had to turn around immediately to walk back to the tour bus.

Cruise Glacier Bay

5 out of 5
A very relaxing sea day around Glacier Bay.

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
Yukon excursion was really nice. Tyler our tour bus driver was very funny and informative.

Victoria, British Columbia

Beautiful port. I wish we had more time to explore. We arrived 2 hours late due to a generator problem on the Royal Princess ship.

Ketchikan, Alaska

The Lumber Jack show was really funny and great to watch

Disembarkation

We carried our luggage off the ship. No lines. Really easy getting off.

Thank you for your review. We are on the Royal with our family in a couple of weeks and looking forward to it. Sorry to hear the food was just sort of ok. But glad you enjoyed your cruise!
