We are very glad we were fortunate enough to be able to go on an Alaskan cruise and see this part of Alaska and the beautiful mountains and glaciers. We would not do it again because of the cost. Also, we enjoy beaches and pools more than the cold weather vacations.

Food and Dining
3 out of 5
We enjoyed the Club Class Dining EXCEPT there was no table-side preparation as described. Princess should take that off their description. The taste of the food in the main dining room was mediocre. We enjoyed the made to order omelettes and the fresh fruits on the breakfast buffet.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
The few trivia and games we played were not very organized. It was too cold to use the outdoor pools on the Royal. The temperature in the hot tubs was only lukewarm, not hot.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
We enjoyed the comedian (s) the first night they performed but not as good the second nights show. I was looking forward to the fountain light and musical show on the Royal. I really enjoyed it on the Regal in the past . Very disappointing on the Royal as it only lasted 5 minutes.
Service and Staff

The service was very good but with the Medallion it seems you lose the human contact and service.

Cabin / Stateroom

It was wonderful to have a big closet, bigger bathroom and full size bath tub. Being located mid-ship made it very accessible to everything on the ship. We also enjoyed the selection of movies on the televisions in our room.
Ship tip
Give yourself plenty of time to get to wherever you're going. The timing on the elevators is bad. You can have a long wait. Long waits.
A very typical Alaskan tourist town. Very busy with four trips in port. We enjoyed the lumberjack show. Short and sweet. An appetizer of what the lumberjack competition is.
They consider “table side” being that they have a cook station at which the Maitre D’ cooks one special dish in the club class dining area and not in the back cook room. Usually after we were half way through our dinner, but we looked forward to them (mostly pasta dishes with some desserts). Alaska is not for everyone, I enjoy just waking around, and there are nice areas to do that.
