Review summary
This was our first Princess Cruise, we have cruised on several other cruise lines over the past several years, and we were not disappointed. This ship is huge, almost too big for our liking. We had over 3000 passengers plus crew. That being said, service was excellent, amenities were numerous, and we never waited more than 15 minutes in any restaurant before being seated, even on "anytime" dining.
Our mini-suite (small upgrade from balcony stateroom) was larger than most cabins we have been in and was very comfortable and felt new. Technology throughout the ship was amazing. Wi-Fi everywhere and the broadcasting of Live NFL games on the giant on deck television was a big plus. The spa facilities were wonderful (we recommend the "Enclave") and several swimming pools provided kid and adult spaces without paying for the optional adult only retreat area.
Food was as good or better than we have experienced on most major cruise lines and shore excursions were numerous but short considering we only had 10 hours in most ports on this itinerary.
I will note that the Commodore (a rank above Caption) in charge of this vessel was unusually accessible and very friendly. We saw him several times on the ship and he always took a moment to chat with us. That personal touch made this cruise special and our fond memories will last for many years to come.
