Review summary

We took the North bound cruise and then the South bound cruise. We feel we saw everything worth seeing but the weather limited some. If you're going to spend the money to get to Alaska we think you should spend at least two weeks there

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We embarked in Vancouver at about 1 pm and experience absolutely NO lines!!!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main dining and buffet were great. Thumbs down on the Dog House and Samba Grill.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
We didn't participate. Shipmate requires me to write something without allowing me to click NA.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We went to only one show which was a comedian who was unnecessarily insulting to some groups of people. We really enjoyed the musicians who performed in the bars and the Centrum.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Almost all service staff were great at their jobs. We had some problems with a staff member at guest services and a waiter in the Schooner Bar. Both made presumptions about what our problems were and wouldn't listen to us until I pointed out that they weren't listening.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
We were on the third deck as far aft as we could get and was one deck below the main dining room. At times it was noisy but most of the time it was completely silent. We liked our cabin.

Ship tip

If you have children, don't expect a lot of activities for them.

Ports of call

Haines, Alaska

5 out of 5
We didn't really understand why the ship stopped. We arrived at 7 pm and left around 10:30 pm. Many places were closed. It was great for walking. We walked into town and then back to the ship.

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
Great port to visit whether you have an excursion or not. First time we were there we visited the shops and counted the jewelry stores. Second time we took the train and we thought it wasn't worth the price. Many beautiful scenes but we were a bit disappointed.

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

5 out of 5
We took a whale watching excursion with Glacier Wind Charters. One of the best excursions ever.

Seward (Anchorage), Alaska

Cruise Hubbard Glacier

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

Cruise Inside Passage, Alaska

Ketchikan, Alaska

Juneau, Alaska

If you don't have an excursion don't expect a great port. Just the usual tourist shops.

I'm sorry that you couldn't go to any activities. Next time get the compass from guest services. They have the paper. It's a shame that you couldn't even go to activities and I'll be on that ship next year
