Review summary

The cruise was awesome experience for our first family cruise. While rain was forecast each day, only one day did it hinder us. Temps were a little chilly but bearable. We leaned heavily into walking and experiencing the local flavor in each city. Took a few excursions, both enjoyable. We set up dinner each night at the same time and got to know another couple. Super friendly wait staff. Ronnie and Bryan were excellent royal Caribbean cruise is the way to go.

All shows were great, only negative. The singing was broadway even during the tribute show when they were singing Elton John Billy Joel and others. Kinda hard to watch.

For a cabin that was to hold 6 people it only had one outlet. Otherwise excellent

Ship tip

Set up dinner reservations in advance, be mindful of shows. Most are worth seeing.

Lots of people, lots to do. Rainy most of day. Great outdoor food truck park. Lots of local food options

Skagway, Alaska

One of our favorite stops. Great town to walk around. White pass train excursion. Great scenery, it’s a round trip so sit in either side. We’re able to go and stand outside the car, amazing way to view the scenery.

Haines, Alaska

Short stay, same day as Skagway. We walked around. Save time for the bald eagle sanctuary. Worth visiting.

Wales all the way to Hoonah. Saw eagles and whales. Worth taking the tram. Only $5. Just missed seeing a bear. Couple of trams. Didn’t do the zip line. Looked super fun.

Ported in downtown. Saw the salmon running a highlight of the trip. We climbed the steps to cape fox lodge and enjoyed the view and had a great brick oven pizza. Saw a mother bear and her cubs.

On board all day. Travel down to Vancouver. Beautiful day to sit out on deck and watch for whales.
