Review summary

Never got our pictures because we were not told how to get them. For someone that is on their first cruise the ship was not very helpful. We had to learn things from other passengers. There should be information given to passengers when they get onboard to help them maneuver all the things to do and what to expect. We missed a lot of things to do because of it. The people in charge of the cruise lied to us about renting electric carts so my husband and I were limited in the activities we could do. I don't think we would go on another cruise with Royal Carribean.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
My husband and I are handicap and if we could have rented an electric cart it would not have been so bad, but walking so far to get onboard was not a good experience.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food was good and the staff was excellent.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Had the best massage ever.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The show was ok. The musicians and DJs were great.

Children's Programs

Didn't take any children

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Angelica and Karlo were the best waitress and waiter we had. The stateroom personnel was wonderful. The ship crew were great. The Guest Services was not helpful nor did they even try to help us and was rude.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
It is an old ship and could use some updating.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The room was small but very efficient. Nicely laid out and plenty of storage.

Ship tip

If you are handicapped make sure you get an electric cart set up before you get on the ship. We were told different and was not able to get one.

Ports of call

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

4 out of 5
We went straight to our hotel by the airport so we didn't get to see a whole lot.

Cruise Inside Passage, Alaska Did not visit port

Was not able to walk that far to get to places, also it was cold and rainy.

Juneau, Alaska Did not visit port

Was not able to walk that far to get to places, also it was cold and rainy.

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska Did not visit port

We were ready to go because they had a handicap bus to take you there. Did not realize the ship was leaving this port so early.

Sitka, Alaska Did not visit port

Was not able to walk that far to get to places

Skagway, Alaska Did not visit port

Was not able to walk that far to get to places

Cruise Hubbard Glacier

4 out of 5
The port was not that far from town so we were able to walk. Took a trolley ride. The day was nice.

Seward (Anchorage), Alaska

3 out of 5
We had to find our own way from Anchorage to Seward. Didn't know it was so far away. Didn't get any help from Priceline at all. There was a couple told us about a shuttle bus that would take us there and we were able to get a seat otherwise we would have had to rent a car. It was a long way to walk to get onboard, had problems.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Was a very smooth and quick process

I rented a scooter though scooter around that's recommended from Royal Caribbean for our future cruise. Dues to my mobility problem we are doing excursions that fit my disabilities. Ever port has excursions for this. I hope next time will be better and enjoy your time doing research before your next cruise.

Most of your concerns seem to be more about your lack of preparation, research, and planning than the fault of RC. If you purchased on Priceline, you take the responsibility for finding out your own information or contacting the cruiseline ahead of time to answer your questions.

Please next time book with a travel agent and do some research your self. They will take care of anything you need. I’m sure if you asked about getting a wheel chair to board the ship they could have found one for you, or if you have your own scooter you could bring that with you.

Many of your questions could have been answered by a good TA.

I’m sorry you were unable to get off the ship to enjoy Alaska? Wonder if there was a wheelchair available for rent? We did that once for my father, however that was years ago. Thank you for your review.
