Review summary

We did the ship/ land tour. Our ship experience was good. Room location was perfect for us. Elevator waits were not long but took stairs when we only changed by a few floors. Food was good, being able to adjust sides and get extra when we wanted it in dining room worked great.

Embarkation

Fast and easy for a 11am Checkin. Many helpful employees including signs directing us.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Main dining room food was good and we were able to make some changes when we wanted different sides. Our staff Kim and Alan table 212 knew our preferences on drinks and bread each night. Windjammer was always buzzing and busy but a good selection including the stir fry and eggs your way for breakfast. We did not try ant specialty restaurants. We had the drink package and the bar staff was great too. Special thanks to Joanna at the Centrum bar. Always a smile and drinks were perfect.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We did go to the adult pool twice and never had a problem finding a seat. Pickleball was crowded with spectators so confusing who was playing and who not. Need a stack paddles or some organizing the players.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Comedians and game shows were funny. Shows in the Colony were good but was always crowded unless you got there at least an hour early. Aurora sing and dance shows were ok, not our favorite but other shows such as comedian was great.

Children's Programs

No kids with ud

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Rooms steward very accommodating and room looked great. Again Kimberly and Alan in dining room were very efficient. Windjammer staff alway helpful and Martin had a great attitude with washy washy and greetings each time entering the Windjammer. Always keeping food full.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
We were on the middle 4 th floor which was a great location for all. Ship directional by elevator were very helpful. Areas always clean. Some activities done in the centrum were a little crowded though.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our cabin was in a great location. We never caught the name of our steward but it was cleaned at great times and always perfect. Loved the towel friends.

Ship tip

Be sure to use the app and mark your calendar about daily onboard events. Get to the Colony early for activities there to get a good seat.

Ports of call

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

We did the hop on hop off bus which was a great way to see the city. We did not get off each stop but received good commentary during the ride. Steam clock and the Gastöwn area and walking around the riverfront was our favorite.

Juneau, Alaska

We did the flight plane over glacier which was an amazing experience. Saw a glacier calving which was awesome. We then toured the town, took a peak inside Red Dog, shopped some of the shops and back on ship.

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

This was a very small town. We rode the free tram up to take a few pictures then down for the jeep excursion. Disappointed with that, we drove down a gravel road, could not hear the leader on commentary and at the few stops he did not try to correct it. We turned it off and talked with the couple in out jeep that felt the same way. Last jeep so covered in dust and saw a lot of trees. Stooped at a bridge to see salmon otherwise just trees, no wildlife. Maybe if we could have heard him if he did commentary it might have been different. Went back to ship early.

Sitka, Alaska

Big Nugget tour. This stop was ok and exactly as described but maybe more kids would have liked. Food was ok, not sure if ribs were done. Excursion took most of time off ship.

Skagway, Alaska

Otter excursion boat trip. Saw several whale tails none breaching. Lots of seals and otters and eagles. Treat was a seeing a bear play around the hatchery. Guides were informative a great crew. Food samples and drinks onboard. Would definitely recommend. We stayed on top most of the time so bring clothes for this. Beautiful area!

We did not do an excursion but got a great view and pictures from ship.

Seward (Anchorage), Alaska

All we did here was disembark. Seamless exit although we were 2 hours late due to ship breaking down.

Disembarkation

Since we were late we were allowed to stay in stateroom longer but could not get to the area we needed to be in until time to get off. We took a land excursion afterward and the bus was there with our luggage waiting.
