Review summary

We booked this cruise only a week prior to sailing. It was a needed getaway for my wife and I and we thoroughly enjoyed this relaxing time!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
The new Royal Caribbean terminal in Galveston was amazing. We literally had no lines to wait in at all for embarkation. The crew was highly efficient and it was a great indicator of what lied ahead.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food and beverage staff was excellent! The dining rooms were always impeccable and the food always hot. Service was prompt and always with a smile. The main dining room food was always excellent. Room for improvement with buffet food quality. We did not experience the specialty restaurants. The drinks did not seem strong enough, but were creative and tasty.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We swam, played mini golf, shuffleboard, and used the fitness center. The solarium pool was too deep until the last day when they lowered the depth to 4 feet. It would have been nice to have more than 1 adults only hot tub. The outside hot tubs were always full of kids.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The shows were all excellent. The entertainers at the Piano Bar, Quill and Compass and the Centrum were amazing!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room steward, Joy, made our experience so awesome from day 1! Our room was attended to a few times a day and the towel animal creativity was always a treat. Our favorite beverage server was Aung who served us nightly in the Quill and Compass and the Theater. So impressive how he remembered our drink order and always brought water. The most joyous part of our day was when we went into the Windjammer Buffet. Shanice was the hostess (greeter) and she had the most beautiful singing voice and sang her greetings and farewells every time we came and went!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our cabin was always kept impeccable every day. We knew that an inside cabin would meet our needs since we would only be sleeping in there. It was very comfortable and we were amazed at how many nooks and crannies there were for storage.

Ship tip

Don’t drink too many sugary rum drinks.

No excursión, just did the Duval crawl!

Nassau, Bahamas

Did a resort pass at the Riu Palace. Amazing Pool and service. Would do that again in a heartbeat.

Bimini, Bahamas

2 out of 5
The resort was beautiful with a nice pool and beach. We did the resort pass along with the drink package. The rule for the drink package was that you had to wait 15 minutes between drinks. We would go back to the bar after 20 or sometimes 30 minutes and the bartender would tell us we had to wait longer. This went on all afternoon and really made us dislike the service.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

5 out of 5
We did the Beach Club, and while expensive, was the best part of the trip! So relaxing, excellent service and the food was beyond expectations!

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
We did a cooking class at which was off the grid and so enjoyable! It was great to get away from the tourists!

Disembarkation

Very smooth experience!
