First Crossing by sandysorkin

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Queen Mary 2 / Destination: Transatlantic

The experience was exceptional for us, but this was a first cruise and we have nothing to compare it to. The crew were exceptional and the food was good. The extra $50-$100 for wine at dinner each night was a surprise. It would have been interesting to have an opportunity to speak with the ship's officers. The \"relaxed\" dress code also allowed people in jeans into the Queens Grill, also a surprise.

Atlantic Crossing by gailr202

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Queen Mary 2 / Destination: Transatlantic

This was our fourth journey aboard the Queen M2 - we love it. It was especially comforting to be a aboard a liner with massive stabilizers on a tranatlantic crossing in January. There was plenty of room for the 2500 passengers to roam without feeling crowded.

A once in a life dream come true by RosemaryB

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Queen Mary 2 / Destination: U.S.

The ship and all of the people working on it were wonderful. Out only problem was that the daily dress code was not completely spelled out, and we had way too many clothes, and not the correct ones. the evening attire was perfectly spelled out.

Felt like royalty! by spencerboyce

Absolute amazing staff!  All crew members are quick to handle any of your needs.  The ship is elegant and is easy to get around.  We travelled with our two children and my parents.  All had a fabulous time!  While the formal nights/dining were always great, it is nice that they also have a buffet going at all hours for more casual dining as you feel.  Sheldon (waiter) was the most amazing guy.  He made our youngest feel like a prince.

upsetting cruise by Christinel1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Queen Mary 2 / Destination: Transatlantic

We won activities, had to get a card stamped each time so everywhere you went you had to carry it. On the last day we went to a quiz had a few minutes to run to bingo then had to rush to turn in card only suppose to have a 45 minute window to turn in prize card. We were told it was on floor 1 went down there said it was on the other half ship but had to go to 2 floor then back down to 1. We did that then when we finally got there it was change to level 5. When we finally got there we picked out out prize level 12. It was 2 glasses in a hard case cover and something else but when I pulled out the card that I carried for a full week I must have dropped it trying to find the place. The lady said she could not help us without the card. I tried to find it could not. My husband talked with cruise director he said he will send our prizes to us. We went back to our room waited. The same lady came and gave us cheap throw away prizes very disappointed. We thought the hole process was just a way for them not having to give out prizes. So why offer prizes just to disappoint?

p Overall the cruise was fantastic.... by AnIrishGuy

Sail date: /
Ship: Queen Mary 2 / Destination: Transatlantic

p Overall the cruise was fantastic. Only problem I encountered was that the Pursers office staff were totally useless. I had two issues that I needed assistace with and could not get any satisfaction from the Pursers Staff..... the cabin steward was more helpful. p p Cunard you need to repair the broken washers and dryers on all decks. More than 50% did not work.

An Elegant Way to Travel by JodiL2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Queen Mary 2 / Destination: Transatlantic

The service onboard was top notch. However, Cunard is no longer what it once was - there is a charge for everything and every purchase includes an automatic 15% gratuity. Plus, the cabins need some maintenance and other areas of the ship look aged.

Big Disappointment! by WilliamC14

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Queen Mary 2 / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

This ship is way overrated. I have been on many other cruise lines that have smaller ships, better service and better pricing. Cunard needs ANOTHER overall (how many have they had now?)

Transatlantic Adventure by MelindaH1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Queen Mary 2 / Destination: U.S.

This was our first cruise and we felt totally at home on the QM2. We loved the extra elegance, dressing for dinner and dancing. We packed in as many lectures, shows, classes as possible and enjoyed every minute. Several days later, I am still longing to be on the open Atlantic. The rooms were very comfortable and I slept like a rock, also very quiet. The service was exceptional, all with helpful, pleasant attitudes. Service was slow in the bars sometimes, but with in slowing down to ship's time, not really an annoyance. I did not like the selling of the cheap merchandise in the shops area; I think it was downgrading to the ambiance. The ship is the destination of this voyage and the transatlantic experience is very special and memorable. Thank you Cunard!

wonderful experience by RobinR1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

Top of the line experience worth every dime. We had an inside cabin next to the stairs and close to the wash/dryer. It was so quiet we never heard a person passing by. Accommodations were wonderful in our cabin.

Queen Mary Cruise by CharlesA7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Queen Mary 2 / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

The Queen Mary was the nicest Cruise Ship that I have ever sailed on. It will be hard to sail on any other Cruise line after being on the Queen Mary. If you want an adult cruise the choose the the Queen Mary, it was as if there were no childern on the ship. Dining was FANTASTIC. We went to the Spa late in the cruise. I wish that we had gone earlier because the Spa was like no other Spa experience.

festive caribbean? by KarenP17

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Queen Mary 2 / Destination: Caribbean

This was sold as a festive caribbean adventure, I suppose if you are pushing 90 it was. Very dull ship if you want to do more than read a book all day. Food was medicore at best. They handled the noro virus with all the finess of a drill sargent.

It is a large vessel, plenty of 'space', many options to take up, or do nothing at all.

This cruise was just like I imagine cruising was like at the turn of the century, with a little bit of modern. by Nonijo

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Queen Mary 2 / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

This was a very special cruise for us. We celebrated 50 years of dating. It was luxurious and a very nice experience. The itinerary was great. Actually it was a three in one cruise. We sailed from New York across the Atlantic to Southampton, then up the coast of Norway to the Land of the Midnight Sun, and back down to Southampton. Then back across the Atlantic to New York. This was the last cruise with my husband. He died the next year.
