A fun ship to explore the first day. Alaska will probably be a hoodie/light rain jacket cruise.

Seattle was a great host town. Embarkation was a breeze. Make sure to view your 2 safety videos to make your muster drill check in super quick.

Food and Dining

Chops filet mignon can’t be beat in my opinion. Chops still has the full dining experience that is part of feeling pampered on a cruise.
The main dining room had nice meals and perfect portions. (Except the portobello mushroom main course. More of an appetizer portion.) Wait staff is incredible.
A little fast paced, if you haven’t cruised in a while this will be a little surprising. If you like your courses to come one right after the other, you will like the new concept.
Pleasant surprise was finding the Solarium Bistro. A California/Mediterranean based restaurant that should be experienced at least one night.

A new added favorite. A smaller version of the buffet for breakfast or lunch. Dinner needs a reservation. Try it at least one night. It is served in an upscale buffet style. With each item served in its own dish. I really like the calamari. “Loved” the filet of snapper. Crema Catalana, a lighter crème brûlée, to finish your meal.
Chops Grille

I hardly order steaks in my everyday life as I have been spoiled by the filet mignon and reduced wine/mushroom sauce. Desserts are a step above.

Coconut cookies. Enough said.

The adults only escape. Check out the hidden side wings that overlook the sides of the ship. Perfect place to relax with your favorite beverage.
Entertainment

I really enjoyed the artistry and special effects of the 270 show.
I would like to say I loved all the entertainment but the main theater main show was disappointing. The dancers were really good but unfortunately the singers lyrics were hard to understand. Didn’t go to the second show because of this. Opinion shared by a few others.

This is the show and showcase that shouldn’t be missed. Everyone was top notch. The venue and its special effects make this a special occasion.

I have never had a bad stateroom attendant and the streak remains in tact. They do an extraordinary job.
Ship Quality

Ship was extremely clean and paint maintenance crew was working every day.
The main Promenade is always a fun people watching source. Nicer sculptures. A number of snack shops and bars.
(The outside of the ship could use a paint job, but that’s a minor issue.)
Loved the adult Solarium.

Ship tip
The Solarium with hidden exterior wings will be your relaxation sanctuary.
A great stop. Thought the highlight would be Mendenhall glacier but a stop at Glacier Gardens was just as incredible. The gardens are highlighted by dead tree bases replanted upside down. The roots were made into gorgeous hanging gardens.
There will be eagles on every other light post as you are driven from the gardens to the glacier. Mendenhall has 2 paths. An easy one to a photo area of the glacier and waterfalls. A second longer path leads to the waterfalls area. Not enough time to do both but I would definitely take the longer path to the falls next time.
Had so much fun in Seattle. Stayed at the Hilton Sound Hotel. Great view of the space needle from 5th floor balcony/bar area.
A 10-15 minute walk to the Space Needle and Chihuly glass garden. The famous Fish market and waterfront area is about a 15 minute walk. So much excitement and numerous activities/restaurants. Short ride to the pier from hotel. About $25-$30 Uber.
Awesome cruise. On our last day. Any questions? Just ask. If you are going to Seattle and there for any lengthy time, bring shorts and shorts sleeves in the summer. I roasted!
