We loved the ports on our Alaska cruise, which was the reason we took this cruise. The cities in Alaska are really fun and quaint. There were plenty of things to do for the short time in port. The activities on the cruise were also fun, but the shows and food were only fair.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We were able to get onto the ship in record time, about 15 minutes from the time we arrived.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The food was the biggest disappointment of the trip. Unless you are willing to spend extra money on specialty restaurants, the main dining room and the Windjammer buffet are both disappointing. Some meals were good, but some were only fair at best. We expected more from the dining.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Activities were awesome for family and kids, from the special activities like indoor skydiving and surf rider (both included) to the SeaPlex which offered Pickleball, Basketball, Laser Tag, and Bumper Cars. There were so many fun things to do.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
The stage shows were fair, and the Starwater show was downright a waste of time. The only show we truly loved was the comedian juggler, who was great fun for the whole family.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Staff were wonderful and very attentive.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship was clean and beautiful on the inside and everywhere that mattered. The exterior of the ship could use a paint job.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
We loved our cabin, which was comfortable and well maintained. It was also a decent size for a cruise cabin.
Ship tip
Book your activities and shows early so you don't get locked out.
Agree with you 100%! We were on Icon last month and the food was like cafeteria food. It’s gone downhill and I refuse to pay for speciality dining. Everything else was great but I feel like they want to get rid of the MDR by making it awful and forcing people to purchase dining.
