Review summary

Due to one of the engines not working. Our itinerary was changed, and we did not see everything advertised. We also got into Victoria late which made us have to miss our original excursion and go on another one. As far as the timing of this cruise, it should not even go so late in September as many of our excursions had to be cancelled. We did not see the Alaska we had seen in so many photos and videos—just rain, fog and grey skies! Someone we met who had been on 4 previous Royal Carribbean tours, said the cruise to Alaska was her worse. I have written RC two times, but no reply.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Our Time dining was not good! We do not usually leave food on our plates, but we did in this restaurant. We were expecting a dinner in a specialty restaurant as promised when we booked, but we ended up in the Solarium Restaurant, which had the worse Mediterranean fare I have ever eaten.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Enjoyed the spa.

Entertainment

The violinist was superb. The comic could have had an earlier show.

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
Room attendant and Customer Service did not take our complaint of lack of hot water in the cabin seriously. We went for 3 days without a hot shower. When we complained about the food at the Solarium, the manager did not take responsibility and instead suggested we did not know what Mediterranean food tastes like. We were not offered a dinner at one of the speciality restaurants.

Cabin / Stateroom

Cabin was okay, but the fact that we did not have hot water in Alaska really made us unhappy.
