Review summary

Overall a great trip. I loved the ship and loved Alaska. I would go on the same trip again. My only disappointment was that Royal Caribbean had engine problems with the ship and canceled the segment of cruising glaciers. They did give us more time in Juneau and $100 refundable credit.

Embarkation

Pretty fast. Some long lines, but they moved well. Pier is far from downtown Seattle. Other Cruise lines use downtown piers which would have been more convenient.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Great Food in the main dining rooms and great service. I recommend the fixed dining time because the waitresses/waiters get a chance to get to know you and what you like.

Onboard Activities

Really enjoyed the quiet adults only solarium pool. Very enjoyable to cruse the inside passage and see the scenery go by while relaxing in a whirlpool with a drink in hand.

Standard cabin. Very clean and well kept. Not huge, but plenty for 2 people.

Ketchikan, Alaska

Did a fishing excursion with shore lunch. Although the weather was rainy and the seas were rough, my wife and I both had a great time. You definitely need an adventurous side for that trip. It was cold and wet. We also had time to walk around Ketchikan and tour the museum. Great little town. Very enjoyable, my favorite stop on the cruise.

Sitka, Alaska

We went on a wildlife cruise with a shore lunch. Was also a very memorable trip. We saw lots of wildlife including seals, humpback whales, bears, and salmon. Not enough time to go into town and do an excursion. Town is a couple of miles from the dock and you need to take a shuttle bus to get there.

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
Juneau is an easy port to do your own thing. They have a variety of booths right at the docks and you can sign up for a bus to the Mendenhall Glacier or a Whale watching tour right on the spot. We took a bus to the glacier. Very worthwhile, especially since RC canceled the Glacier part of our cruise due to a broken engine. See it before it melts.

Victoria, British Columbia Did not visit port

We arrived at 5:30 PM and only had 3 hours here. From talking to others everything was a good walk from the pier, so we decided to just enjoy the ship instead of getting off.

Disembarkation

Very quick and orderly. Very easy to get transportation from the pier to downtown Seattle.
