Review summary

This cruise failed to meet expectations so we just made the best of it. I don’t think I will cruise on this ship again until they get their engine troubles fixed. It was disappointing to not see the glaciers and to only have a short time in ports.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
The cruise terminal is hard to navigate. I was traveling with a passenger with a disability (she doesn’t need a walker or a wheelchair) and when we went to go use the handicap line one of the port staff rolled his eyes like he thought she was lying about being disabled.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food was mostly delicious. I didn’t go hungry.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
A lot of the activities were crowded and they were only offered a couple of times during the cruise

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The ships productions were great, however the comedian and extra musicians they brought on were lackluster.

Children's Programs

Didn’t bring any kids onboard

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All the ships staff was friendly and seemed like they really enjoyed their job.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
For the most part the ship was in good condition.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabin exceeded our expectations. We didn’t know what we were getting into with an obstructed view balcony and the view turned out to be great.

Ship tip

Wait until they get the ship fixed

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

4 out of 5
Very continent to get on the cruise from where you live. Didn’t book any shore excursions here.

Ketchikan, Alaska

3 out of 5
Loved the town, locals were nice and most of the shops were open when the ship arrived. Just wish we had more time in port (we were there for 8 hours) our shore excursion ended up running later than expected.

Sitka, Alaska

5 out of 5
We didn’t do an excursion, all but a few shops were closed when we arrived and they were just about to open when we were getting ready to leave. (We had 7 hours in port)

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
Booked a shore excursion through the cruise line. Felt like we didn’t get enough time here. Most shops were closed when we arrived, a couple of the shops that were open the owners were complaining that our ship was there. (6.5 hours in port)

Victoria, British Columbia

1 out of 5
A few shops were open but mostly everything was closed. Gangway went down at 5:45 and we had to be back to the ship at 9:30 plus we had to take a shuttle to town which takes about 30 minutes round trip, so we really didn’t get to do much.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
I feel like if they ship had smaller group numbers that they called things would be at a constant flow versus everyone waiting in a long line to get off the ship and collect their things and then stand in another line to go through customs.
