It can be difficult to find a seat in the Lido Marketplace at peak times (we didn't have a choice as to when we ate; when the five year old is hungry, everyone eats) but that's easily avoidable if you can wait until a bit later to eat.

Lido always crowded. Often hard to find a table. Rest of ship did not seem crowded except Crows Nesr on occasion. Could find quiet spots to relax. Good size for family with teens and almost teens. Just

Somehow it rained most of the cruise. Not sure if here is a better time to go. Went on June before and had no Rain. Not under control of the ship but excursions were cancelled. FYI

I booked this Holland "America" cruise over the July 4th holiday expecting to see fireworks somewhere/anywhere. However, there were no festivities whatsoever. Extremely disappointing.

Be prepared to stand in line for food.

Skip the three star at best fine and specialty dining areas. You will do as well or better in the Lido buffet.

If you do the Alaska cruise you should have a balcony it was the best place to see the Hubbard Glacier.

Do it, if you need something ask, if you going with a good attitude and stay positive you'll have an excellent time there and the staff all of them will treat you like you own that ship , At least that's how we felt

the ship is old and needs an overhaul. Make sure that happens before cruising on the Oosterdam.

This is a nice, easy comfortable cruise. The ship was not crowded. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. I would have liked to have had more time at some of the ports. This cruise was a good deal and well worth the money.

If you are a seasoned cruiser, you will love the Oosterdam. If you need more information, maybe go elsewhere. The communication was just not there. We never saw the captain and there was a lot of confusion around the exit procedures. We never found out about how to get our pictures and such. We didn't have an opportunity to take a picture with the captain like on other ships.
