Oosterdam

7 Night Alaska Hubbard Glacier (Seattle Roundtrip)

Sail date: July 02, 2017

Ship: Oosterdam

Cabin type: Balcony

Cabin number: 4144

Review summary

I would not book this cruise line again, due to the fact that the Internet connection was absolutely horrible and ridiculously expensive. They charge you the second you log in, even though you cannot get a connection ~ total rip-off! It should be free.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food was delicious and the "Happy Hour" was appreciated!

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
It always took a long time to get someone in guest services to answer the telephone. Also, on several occasions they could not answer basic questions and/or gave incorrect answers. Room service was a wonderful option in the morning, but they only got my order correct about half the time.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The movie screening room was filthy. Some people left disgusted before the movie even started.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabin size was adequate and nicely appointed, except it needed a clock. Having a balcony was a huge advantage and made all the difference.

Ship tip

I booked this Holland "America" cruise over the July 4th holiday expecting to see fireworks somewhere/anywhere. However, there were no festivities whatsoever. Extremely disappointing.

They should provide guests an option, at an additional cost, to check out later.

Rumor is the WiFi on the Mayflower was just plain awful. That's why they signed the Magna Carta. Abraham Lincoln blogged about it.

I agree with all of these comments. Find out his information before you board. It's all on the website. No surprise.

Only because of WiFi connection? Anything else go wrong or just that?

afamnheidi    7 years ago

you would not cruise with them again simply based of wifi connection? there was nothing good about the ship?

If you plan to cruise again, all cruise lines charge for WiFi connection.
