You can walk to the Raptor Center, as it's only about a mile from the visitors center. We found a small, old cemetery hidden in the woods on the way back.

Margaret whilst you are in Sitka I suggest you go to the Aquarium & hatchery in Sitka. It was very interesting and fun for the adults and the kids. Obviously you should go shopping as there are many cool little shops. You could go ride a bicycle around town as I did that one year and it was very fun and interesting, you simply rent a bicycle, they give you a map and you go on your way (No guide) I know it may sound weird but the Cemetery in Sitka was very nice and interesting, it were beautiful to check it out. Overall I enjoyed Sitka and their is many things you can do there.

What do you suggest for Sitka? We are going in the cruise in 1 week and planned on taking a shuttle to the raptor center.

So would I. Hubbard Glacier and Sitka were my favorites.
