The ship was beautiful. Very well kept and clean.

We have sailed on the ms Oosterdam in Alsaka twice before this cruise. We were pretty excited to be sailing on the ms Oosterdam once again in the Mediterranean. The ms Oosterdam was in dry dock prior to our embarkation in Venice. The changes was obvious when we came aboard in Venice - new carpeting in public areas, the new Culinary Arts Center (it wasn't there in 2006), and the re-configured staterooms. Otherwise, the ship looked pretty much the same as it did back in 2006. One thing that we both noticed is the ship seemed to vibrate a lot more while under way than we remembered. We are not too sure if it was an imbalanced prop or maybe we have become more sensitive to vibrations but there was a definite difference.

Holland America was used by us for the first time after using 3 different shipping companies. We were greatlt satisfied with the service and amenities of the ship and would highly recommend Holland America to anyone!

The ship was nice, but in need of some refurbushing. Seats at the Lido Restaurant were worn out and should have been repaired. Some fo the walls were in need of touch up paint. Our last Holland America cruise was over 12+ years ago (before the Carnival acquisition) and it seemed that the ship was far more meticously cleaned and kept up than this time.

Well maintained and highly responsive staff.

Cruise was great. The only complaint is that we received an incentive from with a $70 coupon, ehich for various reasons, I was unable to use. We have certain restrictions when booking a hotel room and I was unable to specify that in the hotel request. I sent an email to asking how to handle the special situation and never got a reply. The cruise, however, was one of the best we have ever taken.

My mother and I enjoyed our Superior Verandah Suite. It was spacious and comfortable with a wonderful large verandah. The bathroom was exceptionally nice with a large jetted tub and separate shower.

Sad to say, my friends were in a corridor where there was a pipe/sewer problem they were in 4167 and 4173. Horrible sewer smell in that corridor, apparently some problem with pipes at one point they could not flush for hours. I think they should have been compensated somehow for having to smell that the whole trip. I do know engineers or whoever were working on the problem but the smell never subsided. Crew was friendly and helpful, cabin stewards very polite, room service was very good, staff in casino very helpful. I thought that the food was adequate not outstanding, too too many sauces etc and the dining breakfast menu never changed. The Dining staff was very courteous and accomodating. This was my 6th cruise, so I do have some cruising experience to compare with.

Really enjoyed the cruise. The ship and room were great. Excusrsions we good. Food was excellent. Internet service needs a lot if improvement.

This was a wonderful cruise on a great ship. The staff were amazing and very pleasant to be around. We had incredible weather in Alaska (blue skies) which I hear is unusual for this time of year. There was plenty to do on the ship, never a dull moment and the spa was incredible!

A great experience. Will definitely consider Holland America for future cruises.

This was to be an "inside passage cruise" and we assumed that we would cruise up and back through the inside passage not into a port, out into the ocean, back into a port, out into the ocean and back into a port. Because of storms when we went out into the ocean the trip was rough as the ship faced near gale force winds. Had we sailed the inside passage we would not have had so rough a cruise and been able to see more than a lot of open sea.

This was a great vacation due to the helpfulness of cruise.com and the wonderful staff of Holland American

We have been on Holland America Cruise ships before and enjoyed them very much. This ship was clean and in top shape. Food and dining has been better on other Holland ships. We have the need to work while cruising and the internet speed and cost is ridiculous. I think dailup is faster. Most of the cruise was outside of the "inside passage". Some in our party had trouble with the rough seas. Next time we will look for more sailing in the "inside passage". The shops could have carried a broader variety of products. The shops seemed skinny compared to other cruises we have been on. And that includes doing another end of season Alaska cruise.

The ship itself was great !! I made a suggestion to one of the supervisors on the cruise, and that is to have a pamphet in each room indicating that it would be of the utmost expense to use the phone to call ANYWHERE !! even family for any reason, make sure you takea cell phone with you on board or you will be sadly surprised like we were.

I was disappointed in the ship. This was my third Holland American cruise and the ships are usually wonderful. The staff was wonderful, very friendly and helpful. I understand the OOsterdam is soon to be overhauled.....I am very pleased, it needs it.

We sailed to Alaska and if ever there was a perfect cruise, this would have been it. The weather was great, the ship was awesome, our room was cozy and the ship's crew were the friendliest I have ever had the pleasure to be around.

My husband and I went on an Alaska Cruise for our Honeymoon after being married for almost 3 years. :-) We chose Oosterdam by Holland America. We had the most wonderful time! The room was amasing! It was very clean. They had a great selection of food on board! ALL of the people who worked there were very nice, kind, and happy looking. :-) We can't wait to book our next cruise with Holland America!

The Alaska Airlines Cruise Agency as a whole leaves much to be desired. Next time I will use a different travel agent even though it means not getting the miles. The first agent quoted a price that was very low, and when I called back to book it, she could not find the price again and said, "Let me call you back." Days passed, no call. And then would not return messages after I'd waited nearly a week. None of them seemed to know the correct dates of the cruises, which contradicted the cruise line on-line info. A coupon book, a perk of booking through Alaska Airlines was not delivered, and when I was away from my mailed info and called to get a departure dock address, I was given the wrong information. There's more, but why go on?
