We have been on Holland America Cruise ships before and enjoyed them very much. This ship was clean and in top shape. Food and dining has been better on other Holland ships.
We have the need to work while cruising and the internet speed and cost is ridiculous. I think dailup is faster.
Most of the cruise was outside of the "inside passage". Some in our party had trouble with the rough seas. Next time we will look for more sailing in the "inside passage".
The shops could have carried a broader variety of products. The shops seemed skinny compared to other cruises we have been on. And that includes doing another end of season Alaska cruise.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
Service and staff in general was excellent - Except for Vista Dining person that assigns tables for "open seating". We asked for a specific table; he said it was being cleaned; we said we would wait; he sat us at a different table. He never gave us what we asked for, be it number of people at the table or when we asked for a table.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
We didn't attend many activities but what we did was just average.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
The Pinnacle Grill, and room stewards were fabulous! In general the staff including the "shopping guy" seemed to have a bit of an attitude. The shopping guy gave us wrong information and then just blew us off on a couple of things, by saying you should have come to my talk. As if we have nothing else to do. As it turned out - he didn't answer our questions at his "talk".
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Overall the ship was clean and maintained during the cruise.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
This cruise like other HAL cruses we have been on the stateroom was the best.
The ship was hardly here - 5 hours. No time to do really anything. By the time you get to town you have about 1.5 hours to look around then you need to stand in line to catch the bus back. Many things to enjoy here but no time
