Review summary
Service staff in cabin and food area were without fault. Ship is tired, has a constant stench of sewerage in many areas, very little to do on board other than drink. Guest services staff were very rude & in accommodating when we complained about noise from kitchen, basically told us to suck it up! While friends a few doors down were compensated $900 refund after husband loundly complained?! I was very disappointed and will NEVER travel with HAL again, it’s like once they have your money, they just don’t care!Embarkation

Very little options for vegetarians, high fat, high carb foods with very little rotations.
Onboard Activities
What onboard activities? We had ‘Learn more about your arthritis ‘ daily, trivia (10mins & 6pm) which no one knew the answers, ‘Improve your Posture’ to try and sell inner soles! Absolutely rubbish! My friends who went to BB’s bar said it was the same set played every night for the 24 nights. EVERYONE complained but nothing changed.
The ‘Oostendam dancers & singers were rubbish too, like Grease without the talent!

Cabin & food service staff were exceptional and very friendly. The guest service staff were rude, condacending, rude & disinterested in helping.

Cabin / Stateroom
Directly below the kitchen, very loud banging & crashing of industrial trolleys ALL night which meant NO sleep for us! I ended up having to seek out sleeping tablets for some respite. Complained to guest services, they refused to do anything then said there was no proof of me complaining. Friends in nearby cabin got $900 refund- us nothing!!! Do not get this cabin or any along this back area under the kitchen!

Beautiful, clean, very pretty & loads to see. The train up to Notre Dame is a great experience! Would return (not with HAL though!)
Beautiful Port, lovely place to visit. Very clean, pretty, easy to get around and unique buildings.
Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy
Best thing here was getting off and knowing the cruise was over finally! Hour+ drive into Rome from here.
Not a lot to see, just a square with a church and a bell tower. The bell tower is worth a look at 12noon, that’s the highlight!
THE number 1 most disgusting place I’ve ever visited! Filthy, more graffiti than I’ve seen anywhere, very little to see & the stench is overwhelming!
Definitely have to climb the 1400+ steps to the top of the mountain, the view is extraordinary!
Always my fave! ❤️ A city like no other! Caught the ferry out to Burano, such a special, clean, friendly island & easily accessible.
