Review summary

The scenery was amazing - Alaska is truly a beautiful place. Everyone should experience it at least once! We are normally Carnival cruisers. We were not impressed with Holland America.

Beautiful and clean - had a full size bathtub! Balcony views are a MUST when cruising Alaska!

The food selection in the Lido was lacking - both in selection and taste. The hamburger joint was ok but nothing like the burgers on Carnival. They seemed to focus more on selling alcohol than serving food. We waited 45 mins one day for the Taco Bar to be replenished - finally gave up and got something else to eat. One day we were off the ship doing an excursion. After returning we went up to Lido to eat and saw people with crab legs on their plate. Couldnt find where they were being served and when asked we were told they ran out. Seriously? We are on an excursion in port but missed out on the crab legs. Also their hours are horrible - they shut down right in the middle of peak dining time. Be sure to plan your meals in advance or you will walk down to eat and discover everything is closed for a couple hrs!
