Review summary

The food was superior and the service great.  A bit of a problem was understanding the broken English of the staff but all were very nice.  Did not like the push to spend more and more and the gratuities inflicted.  Directions on the ship are terrible and no one was around to ask directions when needed.  The Neptune lounge was the about the best part of the ship.  However, the on board entertainment was terrific.

Hubbard Glacier was a huge disappointment.  Staff said the ship would get close enough to turn ship side to side for excellent viewing.  However, it did not get close enough and was stationary the whole time.  I saw it once before on another cruise line and it went up very close, etc.

Holland America Ships are some of the only ships that get close up to the glaciers, with all of my experiences on HAL to Alaska they sit at the glacier for a few hours and do a 360 degree turn.
