Nice cruise ! by JoeSpade

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Odyssey of the Seas

Overall nice cruise, Quantum class new ship was full due to Thanksgiving holiday. General atmosphere on ship was more « mature » than on a Oasis class which have different venues, restaurants and activities.

Not the best but not the worst by toyztoyz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Odyssey of the Seas

For a transatlantic cruise this ranks as above average. For food it ranks below average. For entertainment ranks above average. Cleanliness, handicapping for age of ship, it’s above average. For crew involvement and willingness to help ranks average. Casino was average. Embarkation is below average. Disembark is average. Ease of understanding announcements way above average.

Overall a great experience. I would highly recommend Royal Caribbean. Their staff is so nice and efficient. Food variety and quality is quite good. Activities are numerous and ports of call are great.

Best First Cruise by abotello1982

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Odyssey of the Seas

This was our first time cruise. Definitely exceeded our expectations! So many things to do; food was great; the ports were easy to get on/off ; we bought our excursions on Viator.. don’t buy them from Royal Caribbean - they’re twice the price.

Honeymoon Ruined by Matthew44

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Odyssey of the Seas

My wife and I took two cruises for our honeymoon, back to back. We had no issues on the first cruise, which was a different cruise line. Beginning on the first night of Royal Caribbean's Odyssey of the Seas, my wife woke up with sneezing attacks and having trouble breathing. We believed, and continue to believe that my wife was allergic to either dust mites and/or mold in the room, since she had no ill affects on the previous cruise. We spoke with housekeeping the next day and they said that they would do a deep cleaning of the room. We had the same issue the next night and again reported it to housekeeping who said they would do more this time. We also reported it to guest services who sent my wife to the doctor on the ship. The doctor found nothing wrong with her and gave her some medication to help with her allergies. The following night my wife again woke up sneezing. This continued the entirety of the cruise and did not get better at all. We have documented our experience, but this dance with housekeeping and guest services continued the entire cruise. We begged guest services to find us a new room. Initially they said there was no room at our level and then they changed it to there was no room on the ship. We were promised if anyone disembarked early, we would be moved to a new room. We saw several people leave the ship with their luggage at different ports, but somehow there was never a new room available for us. During this time, my wife was sent to the doctor again and the doctor again found nothing wrong with her. When we asked for her medical records at the end of the cruise, guest services initially said we had to go through their attorneys. When I pressed that they had to give us her medical records, they somehow only had records of her second visit and could provide no explanation for why there was no record of the first visit. Guest services repeatedly gaslighted us throughout this ordeal saying they would do things to make this up to us, but they were only trying to get through the cruise and get rid of us. Because we were both exhausted from spending more than an hour every night on our balcony for my wife's allergies to get under control, we were unable to fully enjoy the excursions we paid for. The obvious counter-question that may be asked is whether she was sick. However, she did not have sneezing attacks anywhere else on the ship and we spent at least an hour on the balcony each night where she did not sneeze or experience shortness of breath. Our conclusion is that she was allergic to something in the room, Royal Caribbean did nothing to improve the situation, and our honeymoon was ruined.

Greek Isles Cruise by petestexasgirl

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Odyssey of the Seas

This was my first time on a Quantum Class ship. I can now say that the Odyssey of the Seas is one of my favorites. What a gorgeous ship and I absolutely loved the layout. Our room steward, Randy, was the best we've ever had. The service on the ship was top notch! We loved the show The Book, but The Effectors was so stupid we walked out. To each their own, I guess. The food was really good, we did not have a lobster night, but that's ok with me. I'm not much of a fan. I can honestly say I enjoyed every meal. I cannot wait to cruise on her again.

An amazing cruise and itinerary. We made it with perfect weather but late May can still be rainy. I would avoid this trip mid summer.

Fancy Ship! I love the Venues. Buffet well organized. by picalo

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Odyssey of the Seas

I don't have a ton of experience with Royal Caribbean but I love the live entertainment venues on this ship. Having a suite was great with access to a lounge, a private dinning room and a private observation lounge that had a happy hour every day.... met lots of people!

Very large ship but beautiful — enjoyed the sky diving (pay slight charge) and enjoyed the north end (also extra paid but worth it )

An awesome cruise. by islandmami

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Odyssey of the Seas

It was a nice ship. This was a birthday cruise for me. The intinary was nice, the room was nice. The ship was clean. The staff was friendly. The only issue I had was the staff in The Regalia. My sister and I went in there looking at jewelry and no one came over and asked if they could assist us. The port and shopping expert Laura was no help either. We ended up shopping for jewelry in Aruba and Curacao.
