Review summary

Overall Norwegian Viva is a beautiful ship. The rooms truly felt like hotel rooms. However, the constant long lines at the buffet were a major disappointment.

Embarkation

Fair - It was raining the day of embarkation and I felt the NCL staff could have done more to protect passengers from the elements. We got soaked trying to board the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food was excellent; however, the main dining hall (buffet) had limited hours and the lines were extremely long. Generally, NCL ship buffets hosted two sides of the ship but Viva buffet was only on one side. In fact, breakfast closed at 10:00. It just made no sense. Overall accommodations

Ship tip

NCL Viva is a beautiful ship. I love the spa facility. However, the buffet lines was the turn-off.

Nothing to do there. Beaches are not inviting.

St. John's, Antigua

The port times was too short. Nice beaches.

Castries, St. Lucia

The port times were too short.

Bridgetown, Barbados

Our shore excursion included three visits to garden. This could not be the best of Barbados. We spent more time traveling on the bus versus visiting the Island

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

Nice beaches but heavy congestions. It takes forever to move from one point to another.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

Too much of a hustle. 5 minute taxi ride was $16 each way for 3 people. I probably will stay on the ship if this is ever a stop. The food purchased at Cooki beach was nasty and a waste of money.
