Review summary

We affectionately called this the geriatric cruise. We saw more wheelchairs, walkers, scooters, canes, etc. than we have ever seen on a ship. That said, all the staff were lovely, and we had a great time. We're both around 60 and felt half our age because of our mobility compared to many. My husband felt like a good Samaritan on more than one occasion helping someone into their room or an elevator. I think the clientele was because of the timing... before kids had their winter break.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Like that everything's close at the Baltimore port, but getting people parked seemed to take too long

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Loved the promenade deck on 6. Basketball and shuffleboard were fun. Enjoyed the hot tubs. Pools were usually too cold. There was no dedicated spa area to subscribe to.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Like that it was mostly hired performers rather than crew

Children's Programs

no kids

Service and Staff

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
It was clean and well-maintained. As some other reviewers have mentioned, it has some dead space that should be put to use and really needs a larger spa area with sauna, thlasso, etc.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
It was slightly bigger than some we've had on other ships. Didn't care for the shower, but everything else was lovely.

Ship tip

Take advantage of the covered promenade on 6. It's a good way to stretch your legs even when the weather is less than ideal.

St. John's, Antigua

3 out of 5
didn't visit it this cruise, but did on another time and it was crowded and not that clean

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
did an island overview tour. Was really nice because it was just us and one other couple.

Tortola, British Virgin Islands Did not visit port

Tired. Wanted a day to rest on the ship.

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic

5 out of 5
We love Puerto Plata. Returning to this lovely city was one reason we booked this cruise! We did a city tour plus beach. It needed to take out something because we only had 30 minutes at the beach.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Smooth and fast.

Older smaller ships during the time when kids are in school are a Mecca for those with mobility issues. If you couple that with cruises longer than 7 days you will really get an older demographic.
