Repositioning cruise great to fulfill bucket list to say you have been there, but there were no passport stamps to prove it. NCL return flights not designed for comfort with red eye timelines. Return flights were 9 hours after airport arrival. Turned out to be a been there cruise; rather than, one creating excitement to do again. Friendships with fellow Christian’s established was a blessing.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
Herded for long walk upward.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Buffet had nice variety, including many unrecognizable selections.
Main dining was better and worthy of consideration if you have more time available to eat. Ambience in line with specialty dining.
Specialty dining was best, but very costly without meal plan.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
This was a shuffleboard and card playing cruise to occupy time. Bingo was desirable, but too expensive. Fitness center not too crowded, but small for ship size.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Stage shows were of dinner theatre quality,
A variety of other forms of entertainment were provided by staff with emphasis on trivia. Bingo was extremely overpriced.
Music venue was enjoyable, but did not keep you in your seat.
Children's Programs
No kids
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
All service was excellent, staff was entertaining,
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Cleanliness was very good. Common areas were functional.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Stateroom very dated, lots of room for sleeping with a king and bunk bed plus a roll out sofa. Stateroom bathroom designed for small folks, no bending over in shower.
Ship tip
If you want broadway entertainment, choose larger ship. 20 day repositioning cruise great way to see many ports. Two ports were removed from itinerary because of weather and country prohibitions.
Took Uber downtown with friends. Small town good for a couple hours visit of 10 available. Walmart available to pickup forgotten items. Highlight was watching kids trick or treat in town, big event for town.
Emphasis are the rock formations and lovers beach accessed by water. Excursion boat much larger and safer than local offerings in port. Port not to inviting with beach in front of closed cannery. Town in walking distance with lots of shops.
City sights excursion took us to tourist destinations including a church, which was not accessible because of funeral. Many tours in same area caused loss of folks on tour. Street vendors not too pushy. Some stops designed as sales stops for stores visited, one with a bathroom, other with water. Found a street vendor with good tacos.
Excursion took us to market square in Antiqua followed by meals in two establishments. Market square beautiful with lots of vendors. Meals were very good and filling. Volcanic mountains beautiful.
Sounds like an amazing itinerary. Perhaps some pre-cruise research to see what you could have done in port would have made them memorable. For example, you can do a lot in five hours (even three hours) in Catalina.
