Enjoyable cruise

We were fortunate to be able to cruise 2 weeks and the first week had excellent weather.  At Ketchikan we enjoyed the excursion to the Totem Bight State Park.  As we were leaving the port we spotted lots of whales spouting!. In Juneau the sun was shining so decided to take a seaplane trip to see 5 glaciers.  It was an amazing trip.  When we reached Skagway we took the White Pass railroad trip to see the beautiful scenery.  Enjoyed the Glacier Bay and Hubbard Glacier viewing.  because our captain spun the ship around at each glacier so everyone had a great view of these glaciers.  In Seward the cruise line only offered one excursion so we booked one independently with Kenai Fjords Tours to the national park.  During this cruise we saw lots of whales spouting, sea lions, eagles, and beautiful sights.  They served a chicken wrap with a glass of water and later a delicious chocolate chip cookie baked during our trip.  Icy Strait Point didn't have a lot of excursions that we were interested in so just walked around the shopping area.  Due to poor weather conditions we did not get to visit any glaciers on the return trip.

Cabin / Stateroom
Our room was larger than a regular balcony stateroom and the balcony was huge. This room is right below the observation deck and right next to one of the owner's suites. We had great views even when it was too cool to sit outside due to wind as we traveled.
Embarkation and Disembarkation
Embarkation had some problems at this port. From the time we left the shuttle until we arrived at the registration desk there was no signage or personnel to direct us. The walkway was congested with containers for luggage and parked vehicles so we had to walk in the road and were stopped by security guards. On other Norwegian cruises we have been on personnel have been there to direct passengers every step of the way. Disembarkation went without any hitches.
Ship Quality
The design of the buffet is a major flaw on this ship. It is the smallest area I have ever seen on the 4 different ships I have been on! Cleanliness was fine in all areas of the ship.
Destinations and Excursions
Onboard Activities
Enjoyed the activities provided by Richard Matic and his staff.
Service and Staff
Everyone was helpful and friendly on the ship.
Food and Dining
The buffet is poorly designed which results in long lines. There really isn't enough seating for all the cruisers. We ate mainly in the main dining room for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We were very satisfied with the service and food at Seven Seas. Missed the Blue Lagoon type restaurant that was open on other Norwegian ships. The Sports Bar has a small menu but only available from 5:30 pm to 5:30 am.
