Our suite (which really wasn't a suite) was located directly below the main "all day restaurant". People were moving chairs and tables all night. This ship is "low information and low service". Many people might want a little more service, check before buying. The ship had a very dated feel.

Made the mistake of booking during Spring Break. Didn't even occur to us (we're old). Our cruise.com people didn't mention it to us, either. The pools were constantly packed with young people. Don't book any time during March if you want a shot at using the pools or hot tubs.

For example: Save your receipts from when you order drinks from servers around the pool. You may not recognize the name of the bar on your statement at the end of the week, as you did not go to the bar directly to order the drink. This saves headaches in case there is a purchase on your account that looks fishy.

The Norwegian Star is one of the older smaller NCL ships and doesn't offer as much to do as the newer larger ones, like the Epic and the Breakaway.

We stayed in a forward cabin, which was wavy compared to our previous times w/ mid ship. It was much quieter than mid-ship. Wish I would have known that you could "easy walk off" depart the ship. Had I known I could carry my own bags off, I wouldn't schedule transfers & it would be quicker depart

Specialty restaurants were nice but not all are worth the extra money. Be ware of spa deals and read the fine print before you think you're getting a deal.

Our cabin was below the Gully which they had to clean after all the restaurant were closed. After complaining about noise, which started anytime from 22.45hr till 1.30 am, we eventually moved to the cabin on the 10th. floor for the last five days remaining of our cruise. Thanks to Ms.F.G. ROCABO,

Make sure that you check the location of your cabin before you depart and you demand the type of cabin that you pay for independently of the travel agency you use.

If you can afford it, two things I would highly recommend: 1) Room with a balcony. Makes a world of difference and just provides breathtaking views. 2) The Ultimate Dining Package-it is not too expensive ($130ish a person), and it really provides access to some great restaurants.

One of the bartenders was changing a large, dirty bandage on his hand at the bar so we went to a different bar. We spoke with one of the managers who said that it would be addressed, but that was the last we heard about it. Favorite specialty restaurant, Moderno or La Cucina.

if you purchase the specialty Restaurant package I suggest that you book your excursions first and plan your restaurants reservations accordingly
