Review summary

The balcony for us was worth the extra cost. We spent every morning reading the days events and planning our day and we finished each day by watching the sunset, before heading out for the evenings activities. Salsa/Salsa was fun. Kayaking amazing and Yelapa was a great excursion. - - Watch out for service fees. We tipped the staff through out the cruise to only learn later that they tack on $12.50 per day per person for the same purpose.

Cabin / Stateroom

We spent time every morning and every evening on our private deck. Sunsets for the first 5 days and whales, sea lions, turtles and dolphins on the last 2 days. Great location for ship activities.

Ship tip

They charge a 12.50 per day per person service charge to tip the staff. So do not be surprised by the almost $200 charge on your bill at check out.

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California

We came down a day early and walked from our hotel to the ship. Made for a more relaxed start. Happy Diner for Breakfast.

That was the same response we got from the front  desk on board. Of course she had her hands on her hips too. With all the  information we had to read we missed it. I am glad you knew about it, but this is intended for those that may also miss it or have not cruised since they started this fee.

Were you not aware of the charges before you cruised? I understand it is and has been common practice for a while now. Your TA should have informed you. The policy is also posted on the cruise sites.
