The cruise started out with cool weather and rain but the crew did their best to make the activities interesting. The last 4 days were better weather and the activities were still good on board along with the ports we visited.

Onboard Activities

I would have like more trivia games and a better variety of questions
Entertainment
3 out of 5
The piano bar musician took lots of breaks and used too much canned background music. Also the location was not good for listening since the room had a open ceiling the music traveled all over and the noise from other areas of the ship were too loud at times. The shows in the big theater were great. The group of performers from the ship were really good for college performers. If you want to see great shows go on a Disney cruise.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
the staff was great especially Ronnie Alves the Assistant Maitre "D in the Versailles dining room. He allowed Denny Duvall to play the piano for our group and the other diners in the room (he only played 1 song on 2 nights) since he was also on vacation. Ronnie trusted us when we said that Denny was a professional musician (and the piano bar musician on the Holland American line). You have a beautiful piano in the room and it is a shame not to have someone play it during dinner.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
The ship seemed clean enough except when a few of the toilets malfunctioned. The bathroom toilets in the balcony cabins were way to small to even turn around in. The hallways felt small and I got lost several times trying to find my cabin, so better signs would help
Cabin / Stateroom
The toilet area was too small, I could barely turn around to flush and lower the lid. the room itself was not bad but a full length mirror where the closet doors are would be better than on the corner next to the bed where it is hard to view your appearance.
Ship tip
Watching sporting events is difficult since there is no real "sports bar" where there are great seats near a large screen t.v. We ended up watching the NFL playoff game in the O'Sheehan bar on a small screen. The It's 5 o'clock somewhere bar was not big enough. The piano bar is not a cozy bar
The poverty level was worse than I expected. The rainy day may have made it feel and seem worse than it is but it was sad that the kids would run up to the taxi every time it slowed down to try to sell you something.
The review is for the ship, not the weather. Giving 3 stars because of rain is ludicrous. You even stated the crew 'did their best'. What more could you ask for?
