Excellent!

An extremely well managed ship with great service. The food was always excellent. The specialty restaurants were top quality (but the extra pricing was a bit annoying). We loved some of the acts in the theater but a couple of them were poor. The mexican riviera is a great place to escape to: good prices and great weather. The freestyle dining and other flexibilty was wonderful. We also liked the "dress up optional". When I go on vacation, the last thing I want to do is dress up! We were fairly unhappy about a last minute change in the itinerary. Our options were to reschedule later or take a very small cash credit. NOTE TO ALASKA: THE FOLLOWING SHOULD NOT BE INCLUDED IN THIS REVIEW BUT WE WOULD LIKE YOU TO INVESTIGATE As you know, NCL announced a last minute change in the itinerary for the N. Star. We were quite disappointed because Acapulco was a main reason for choosing the cruise. However, we had very little choice because a busy spring would have prevented rescheduling until next year. While we did enjoy the cruise and the itinerary, it wasn't what we originally purchased. This is the part I would like you to check out: while we were on the ship we heard two separate stories. One was a couple who had been on the ship the previous cruise (Mar 4-12) and had the same change happen. They were told the next time the ship would go to Acapulco so they stayed on. Of course the itinerary was changed (apparently again!) The second story was a couple who told of a bartender on board who said the ship had not gone on its advertised itinerary in the last year! Since these are rumors, they will not be in my review but I would like to know the truth for future consideration of NCL. I might add that while they are not obligated to do anything, NCL should have offered cancellation as an option (not just deferral) and/or a bigger credit than the trivial $50 per person. I would appreciate very much knowing how often NCL has changed the itinerary of this ship.

the last minute change of Itinerary was not cool . we took the cruise becauce Acapulco and we den't go.

Changing the itinerary did not add to the positive input. The physical ship is extremely attractive, and some members of reception and their superiors were extremely helpful. The price of water was outrageous. The fact that water or juice was not accessible from the pool was inconvenient. One had to go into the buffet area to get water. The ship also pushed crackets to win monetary prizes prior to each performance of the evening. On a positive note, the singers of the show were the best I have ever seen. Without the Las Vegas costuming, they mesmerized the audience. I will most likely not book an NCL cruise again. This was the second, and certainly does not compare to other cruise lines.

A clean and well run ship with minor irritants.

The ship was very clean. The crew/staff were very friendly and helpful.

The ship was large and spacious. It was by far the smoothest ship we have been on so far. We loved the freestyle format and the many restaurants that were available as well as the buffet whenever we wanted a snack. We liked the availability of excursions being booked from the ship, was very handy. The entertainment for the most part was superb. Some of the lounge bands were not that great but not implorable either. Overall, the experience was wonderful and we are looking forward to future cruises with Norwegian.

The entire crew was very nice, but we had nothing but probelms with this trip. We were straned at the airport for 1 1/2 hours, waited 3 hours to get on the ship once we did arrive at port and it went down hill from there.

We had a great time, but were a little disappointed to come back and find that we did not recieve certain packages that were purchased for us.....

The Norwegian Star is a beautiful ship. The crew does an outstanding job of providing great service. On the first "at sea" day, the itinerary was changed to take care of some "mechanical issues." We didn't miss any ports, but they were just in a different order. The crew handled the changes well, and we were kept informed about the itinerary changes.

The ship was kept immaculate. It provided all kinds of opportunities from shows to lectures to exercise to relaxing.

I am amazed that they can keep the entire ship extraordinarily clean despite the volume of people present. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. The "freestyle" concept of dining anytime was wonderful. And the shows, especially the Ann Ryan Company, were fantastic.

The Norwegian Star was exceptionally clean. The staff were friendly and most welcoming. The amenities on board met or exceeded our needs and expectations. There was plenty to do on board, if we so chose, otherwise we were free to relax as we wanted to. The organization both getting on and off of the ship were great and we never encountered delays.

Excellent vacation for my husband and I. When we landed in LA we were put on bus and given a city tour. Arrived at ship and had VIP check in not waiting. Our room was ready and very clean. As was the whole ship. We especially liked the casual attire and specialty dining offered on this boat. Cruise.com has all of our travel documents emailed to us and they were accurate I would book future cruises with them as they also had us upgraded to a suite. Very Nice!

We read alot of negative reviews and we quite liked the experience. Because we were a group we requested a room group activities.

This is our first family cruise and it is very impressive. We start to make a decision of going on the cruise at least once a year now.

The ship is beautiful. It has a very nice kids pool area and larger pool area. I enjoyed the areas for just sitting and viewing the ocean, etc. The ship was at full capacity and there were a lot of people, but it did not feel over crowded. The food was good, but I did miss the theme nights we have experienced on other cruises. The state rooms are a good size even with 4 of us in one. We had our 19 year old daughter with us. She does not drink or smoke. It would have been nice to have a few activities specific to the 19 to 25 year old single crowd. Maybe not attached to the lounges. Kind of like the teen programs. She did enjoy the spa experience. Overall if you enjoy cruising this would be a great cruise to take.

This is the first cruise and our family really enjoyed everything.
